so, I would like to start out saying that I haven’t been on here as much as I would like, since I made my profile I have had some life changes, but that is beside the point. I was able to keep my plants alive till harvest last season, it was my first time growing bud. I was trying to do it on my own with little to no help to see if I could. And I did. I had fun with it and found the whole process, good and bad to be a great outlet. I have learned a lot, both from here and from my own experience, but I know that there is more to know. I am looking forward to my next grow and growing with y’all.
My first grow I had started 3 seeds of Black Sugar from Seedsman. I didn’t want to start all 3 since i don’t have a big tent, but I noticed that one of the seeds didn’t look 100% mature. So i popped it anyway. 2 of the seedlings didnt make it to veg but the one that did, took off. After the 2 seedling didn’t make it I started 1 seed of Blue Dream’mattic from Fast Buds I think, purchased from Seedman. I had no problems with this one but I wasen’t paying attention to how far along it was and didn’t start giving it nutes till it started flowering…oops. But still got something from it.
My plan this season is to start the other 2 of Blue Dream’matic that I have. Then start some Fuel D.OG. Needless to say I am excited to get started and keep y’all informed.
i do also have pictures of my grow and will upload a little later today.
This was about a week later. My fault I tried giving nutes to early… i had learned a very valuable lesson. the small one would bounce back a bit but not recover fully.
Almost 14 days later, small one is out and this one is doing better. i had started the Blue Dream’mattic at this time too. BD is an auto, and BS is a photo, i forgot to mention that. sorry.
Both pics auto, not sure what exactly happened but it did ok. i know it wasen’t bugs, either nutes or ph or root ph as well mabye more im not sure. At this time I think i transplanted the photo.
Auto Blue Dream’mattic, i ended up with little or 3.5g, not much but something, I learned a lot and will apply it to the other 2 seeds. I also put up a net in the tent since i now had the room.
Awesome to finish your first harvest and to get back at it. Pretty soon you’ll be swimming in your own ultra dank home grown weed and the envy of all your non grower pot smoking buddies. And then since you’re on og, get hooked on making crosses and building your seed stash. Keep us posted yo!
And another, this is all i have on my computer at the moment. I have more on my phone and will transfer tomorrow, and try to upload sometime tomorrow night.
Thank you very much!! It was indeed awesome to at least finish my first without a loss, I had my fair share of scares though. I got discouraged but never defeated. Yea a buddy of mine who smokes is jealous because since harvest I always have it. I need to get more organized and get a bigger space and a few more things before I think about crossing strains. But something I’m down to try and am curious about.
You’ll dial in things in time as it’s all part of learning the hobby , one comment for your first couple plants you ran out from solo to finish they all looked quite under watered and the root shot also showed that, peat based mixes and be tricky sometimes as they are easy to over water, they also don’t hold onto water if they go to dry.
I agree it’s a learning process and I’ll get it down pat over time. I do appreciate input, good or bad. I believe it helps one grow and learn. I do agree with the underwatering and it makes sense, as I heard so many stories of newbies overwatering. And I knew about if the dirt became hydrophobic, that is a bad sign so, I will keep that in mind for the future, thank you. I’m glad I took the pics of the roots too. I’m sure that there is more that can be deduced from them. You guys are like freaky geniuses with what y’all know lol.
Chopping day. and a pic of what it looked like about a few days ago( the end result not the plant ha) I of course have more pics but just picked some of the better or more informative ones. Please any comments, questions, concerns or advice is more than welcome.
I wanted to do a diary for this one but I had my fingers in too many pies. I also wanted to see if I could do it with the knowledge I had acquired. I agree it would be easier all around and I will do that for my next grow.
It is indeed, still sailing today too. They have a tracker for it as well, and their facebook page has a ton of beautiful photos. I’ve stood on the deck when I was a boy, my dad took me, I remember looking down one of the holes in the deck to the kitchen and asking what they were eating. Steak um and potato. I also have a few postcards and a model( that I havent put together yet) of this ship.
