Me personally not yet but there was someone around here some where that did and it was exciting to see
And/but iwe are talking about both here i might need to change the heading but the term heirloom can be taken to far sometimes
I was watching murder mountain on netflix.and the last episode at the end. One of the ol timers said when they first started homesteading up in Humboldt he was one of the people who personally went to Afghanistan to get genetics. And he stated they went to wazaristan. It had me wondering. What if mazari…was really wazari I can see that getting mixed up…just a thought I had. I think worth at least looking into
That is pretty close, very doable.
Although some types that were hybridized are also considered heirlooms. The term heirloom does not entail genetic purity like the term landrace does, but it can. I think I said that right. Heirloom is a broader term.
And thats why i didn’t put it in the topic heading in hopes of keeping the thread about landraces and indigenous heirlooms maybe thats a better term?
Or we can just say shit older than us not from here.![]()
Thats cool; I just wanted to point out that its possible for a variety to be both. Just not every time. Skunk and White Widow can be considered heirlooms, but not landraces.
This is why terms are important maybe we should start using indigenous heirloom as a community? It would help to differentiate from modern heirlooms and ibl
So im going to cross peshawar with the daman#8 this year
should be interesting
And 2023 i crossed pesh with iran ![]()
Smells just like romulan
Pulling my my rocking chair.
Although it keeps getting pushed back time wise, first OP will be Iranian #2 (Balochistan) from TRSC. I forget who posted about Iranian seeds from this region, but there were a couple of phenos if recall, green, reddish and bluish with the latter having a soothing warm body blanket effect. After that will be New Caledonia (Ace) heirloom beans.

Nice plant. Good luck with your project, and look foward to see what you come up with.
I knew I spelled that wrong lol btw
The one i have is khorisan, tons of thiols i even found a burnt rubber male
Thanks but that was stability and resistance test only that plant grew all year start to finish zero cultivation from fallen seed no PM protocol or even extra water rain only . I cant wait to see what happens with just a little bit of loosening up of the soil and a little compost ![]()
That looks damn yummy.
I had shit tons of different phenos from the pesh X iranian but that one was the most vigorous of the bunch
There was many more i just didn’t photo them all and one was straight hash plant had resin heads all the way to the tip of sugar leaf i will be digging into the soon
Iranian is the only landrace that Im still looking for. Does anyone have a pure Iranian? ![]()
Do i have any pure? ![]()

of course lol
Worth considering that adaptive transgenerational plasticity can lead to phenotype and population shifts much faster than typical evolution timelines (look it up). ![]()
Now we are getting to the good stuff ![]()
Just to explore the topic more- I think one should be aware that while these are landrace seeds that are brought over from their specific regions, once they are grown in a new region with it’s own climate, the plant begins to adjust to the new climate/environ. It doesn’t take that many years/generations for the plant to become something new. Outdoor cultivation will have different influences than indoor cultivation over the years. Not to take away from what we are doing, but to have perspective.
Each landrace itself has originally come from some other place, and acclimatized to whatever region we find it now. Cannabis is a plant that comes from parts of Central Asia.
I find it interesting to think about how things travel, morph, stay- then travel again.
As far as preservation goes, it would be nice if we could create a system of encouraging local farmers around the world to continue growing each respective landrace from that area. Not easy with the draconian pushbacks against the plant. If people there were able to see money from selling the seed and some ganja-tourism (hate the thought, but), that could soften things.
I think I just did a long-winded version of what you said.
