The same goes for the Blue Chocolate and Madonna F1. These seeds are close to a decade old, the Madonna F1 may be a little older, but they’re worth a reproduction project.
Think blueberry muffins and dark chocolate or sweet grape and berry… sounds good?
Not sure the Beldia will be ready, how long is pollen viable? Checked the mango out on strainly should be a hit with both. See how the two beldia sex out.
I’ve tried the Acapulco. It’s the real deal. I acquired some myself back when he dropped them, and then was gifted some reproductions as well. Both of those are on my list of things to reproduce for here some day… but if you really want to run some sooner, I can send you some of the ones that were reproduced.
This is more like Lefthand’s remedial school. I’m trying to hold back some of the big kids until the little ones catch up. I had to expel half a dozen kids from the class already.
I haven’t been able to germinate any of my Leb27’s, save one. It’s not really growing either. The two that opened after the DMSO method have not yet shown signs of life from the rooting cubes.
Then I also didn’t get all of my RSC Lebanese to germinate, and one was a mutant… and if that wasn’t enough, one of my black/blue Lebanese was also a mutant. To top it off, one of the RSCs also has a bit of a duck-web thing going on (front left). So this has been a real freakshow so far! This is how landraces go folks! Gotta be ready to make a bunch of seeds so you can filter out a lot of shit.
So now I just need these other little ones to toss a few more leaves and then the expansion begins!
It’s such a freak show sometimes, but there’s a certain realness to it as well that’s so attractive. It’s like experiencing the different ways the plant has coexisted with and benefited from different cultures, and all the extreme expressions that result from that.
In many ways, you could consider the western polyhybrid to be it’s own landrace. Localization has occurred in only a slightly different way, but it still has happened. A vast subset of the total global cannabis genetics has been circulated, refined and mixed, and well protected from outside pollen. When you grow a landrace, you get something other than the 21st century western cannabis experience. Whether it’s an experience of how a different culture uses it, or to see the very logical and dynamic evolutionary expressions of cannabis. You can’t buy that at any dispensary I’ve been to.
That’s an interesting perspective. I might tend to agree. Couple days ago I had my nephew grab me two different dimes and same for my sister, and for all 4 buds, the high was identically bland.
Hell yeah. As soon as the buds stop swelling they’re coming down, ready or not. I blame it on lackluster logistics. People takin shortcuts at all the wrong times.
Thats really nice of you to offer. I think i can wait for a repro run. Plates quite full at the moment, but if i get time before you do i just might take you up on it… what kind of flowering time? I grew up hearing of Acapulco and Oaxacan. I missed getting to try them out by just a few years. By the time I was smoking the mexican pot, it made you sleepy. Speedy at first followed by munchies and a nap. Its nice to know the Acapulco is alive and well! can’t wait to see the Repro run!
