Landrace Expansion & Trade

Was this narrow leaf The Durban Poison, or was it called that after or because if hybridization and just Durban before?

You know thats a good question, idk when the poison moniker was added but im pretty sure it was before the 80’s

Here’s a pic of your 3-Way Durb. I finally got them into bigger pots. I meant to put the one on the right into the larger pot but if it needs it I have a 7 gallon to put it in. The one on the left is five.

They’re all pretty similar but the one to the right does have the most sativa influence look. It’s getting 9 finger leaves.

Oh, and that really bitching sativa looking 4P Haze female I had, is a male. It just took it longer to show than the hybrid looking phenos. 3 for 3 males. I may try and pop a couple more. I’m going to slow the male down and stall it or clone it and collect pollen later. I have too much going on to try and time it right. Man he looks just like the Neville’s as far as sativa. My other cool sativa looking Nevilles turned out to be male the same way as the 4P. It just took longer to show than the other pheno which doesn’t look sativa at all. I’m going to collect from the one showing already. May hold the other one back.

The durbs will start flower now. I had them inside in 14 hours light until I was finished potting. Otherwise they were starting. Tonight they’ll sleep outside again and run till I need to move them inside.

Those are really looking nice. :+1:

I agree, the one on the top right looks a lot like the Cannabiogen Durban, but the one on the left is pretty darn close too.

I added a paragraph under the pic about my 4P…I’ll get a pic up of that 4P male…

I took it back outside to the natural light once up pottedand it immediately grew 6 inches on both tops and she was a he!

I had the opposite thing happen to me - I thought a tall lanky plant was showing balls and when I put it outside in the back yard but after a bit it was obviously a female and it was too big to put back inside at that point, so it ended up being an unintentional outdoor plant, which would normally be great, however I was really hoping/planning for that pollen

If you have experience with this landrace, please share

That’s great! I have grown a few strains from Ace, and really enjoy growing their stuff. Which strain did you purchase?

I have five landrace strains in this run. Four from Indian Landrace Exchange and one from Hybrids from Hell.

A couple are long flowering equatorial strains so it should be a fun run.

Balochistan #3

These are the latest addition to hit the water last night!

@lefthandseeds, i noticed that as well. Mel claims on his site he’s be working the same Durban population since the early 80’s. Supposedly its up into the F30’s now I heard/read somewhere. Its not claimed to ever be hybridized or sold F1’s by him,who really knows what happened way back if he lost the genetic. he claims to be working this same population since early 80’s, on record. As I know it.
I always thought the licorice Durb was 10-11 weeks flowering. Could be he selected for high thc/short flowering individuals over time whereas others have selected differently.
I got excited when I first came across it, till I seen the $50 USD shipping. That killed it for me. My licorice Durb jones was squashed right there.
I cant see myself paying the nearly $70CAD on Mels website for shipping ever, even on these.

sounds nice. great pic. i love me a good heady sativa in the morning. Been smoking my Maui as the first smoke of the day and it brightens the day for sure.
Sadly it wouldnt likely be a good selection for my location. I do like seeing people working to keep these populations alive tho. Its dedication.
Pure sativas are a whole diff monster to grow.

Maybe those 10 durban seeds are shipped inside another 10 pack of Durban seeds …that would explain the cost lol. Seriously though, what kind of shipping could even cost that much? The seed price is fine, but that shipping total is aggravating.

That’s a sweet lineup! Can’t wait to see the progress. Make sure to post updates here. Which one are you most excited about?

I think @lefthandseeds thought that was a typo and you meant Ace not Aceh. I have been looking for that landrace for over 2 years now. Perhaps @Indoornesian and has grown it??
I would love to see some pictures! What are your growing conditions, and maybe I have some advice for you. I am assuming you are using a light?

If you are talking about the Durban Poison I have going, it’s still vegging from a clone that was taken from the mother that was harvested in April. Highly doubtful that I have pics.
If it helps any, I’ll be flowering her out in the middle of October and I can do a few pics as it’s progressing. I’m almost certain that the cut I have has been worked, as it’s short with very little stretch. She has that anise scent, very floral bouquet. The smoke is heavy, but definitely a day time high.
Let me know if you would want to see it thru flower.
