Landrace preservation and hybrids project

Microbes to are amazing, I’ve been working with Microbes now for working on 7years IMOs (indigenous microbes) like the ones out of your old growth forest are pretty badass bro BB it living vinager works great for PM as well if you don’t want take the time to make a vinager you can use like juice from a homemade sourkrout or kombucha use bout a shot glass for two gallons water it’s the same probiotic it actually feeds on yeast and that’s what PM is they’re all so really good for us what I’ve found is the root system of the plant has the same kinda microbes that in our gut biome true health this rabbit hole goes really deep bro because these microbes are conscious they make decisions they communicate with the plant they also can pass the blood-brain barrier once you start using these microbes you actually start craving healthy food and all kinds of stuff really really interesting topic right here we should do a thread on it edit just saying lol I could get of my lazy ass and do it lol well let me search some things maybe there already is idk lol

Can it grow bad microbes in an oxygen rich environment? Is that possible? I’ve been adding castings and blood meal to my teas since I started making them. I only use nitrogen for veg tea. Maybe a tablespoon in a few gallons of water.
There was something else going on with that Alaska fish emulsuon. Hydrolyzed or not I don’t know but I think it had something to do with whether it was or not Or maybe phosphoric acid? I don’t know. Not an issue anymore because I didn’t use it this summer or last summer. Pretty much only been adding manures and fermented plants lately. You should definitely start that thread you are talking about it would be a good one. Likely there is something similar

There are all kind of nuances to brewing ferments are the best like stinging nettle and the females love to eat the males the got everything she needs I tend to grab them right before pollen drop sometimes a little after I JLF them do you know JLF? But I bubble my JLF also so there is no build up of anaerobic microbes

I’m just fermenting cannabis and other weeds like comfrey and feeding it cut 50% after bubbling 3 days. The first time I did it with no bubbling and it actually worked really good. I was concerned about adding anaerobic microbes into the soil but I watched a video about fermenting first and as the person pointed out, those bad microbes will die once they are in an oxygen rich environment such as soil. Nonetheless I bubble now but I’m looking to keep it as simple as possible. I pick weeds that have big flowering heads when I make a flowering ferment or I use things like Burdock or dandelion when I want to help the roots. Pretty cool. Lots to learn

Yes that’s true kinda tBecause they really just go dormant and idk like have you ever had a leaf have only like half the leaf go yellow? So people think it’s cool they call it the fade but really it’s not it’s an excess of anaerobs if I’m explaining it right see that’s the issue the science is still so new we only know like 2% of the micro world we have only begun to unlock genetic potential it’s so exciting:) that’s being said that’s why I guess I’m just overly cautious I had a scope but I haven’t took no course or nothing I know how to identify some stuff and I don’t know how to quantify it but there is a guy and his wife they has a YouTube channel called the crevice method and he teaches all that for free for the community they studied under Elaine edit genetic potential of cannabis and only saying kinda true about killing microbes the rest is spot on:) if the plants heal us it heals the plant

I really came to see what all pure sativa’s you might be willing to trade @Upstate I got some original 90s catpiss from San Diego joe he’s the guy who had it originally in the 90s edit so they say james loud paid a 1000$ just to get the guy out the shadows lol it worked though lol

My bad guys name is Tom sorry my memory fails me sometimes edit lol sandiego joe is more catchy though lol

I got away from teas.
I found that you really have to get good airstones - a couple of them - and even then, there will be anaerobic pockets in the container. Also, brewing with air can quickly feed nasty stuff.
I ended up always adding a probiotic to every brew so that there would be less worry about pathogens.

Bovine blood/bone meal is something you want to
compost, not brew, because of high pathogen risk. Same goes for guanos. Earthworm castings and fish hydrolysate are really the only things you really want to brew. Otherwise, its better to stick to rock dusts and plants (alfalfa, kelp, srp, etc.,)

2 yrs ago I was stuck on a mountain top with no electricity and shoe-stringing it.
So, I made anaerobic teas. Alfalfa, kelp, crustacean meal, rock dusts and minerals, em1
I didn’t have a scope to see if there were any pathogens. So I asked Luna at skunkmag to brew some up and scope it for me. There wasnt anything bad, but that doesn’t mean its not a risk. Either way, I had the biggest plants in the valley and no problems with plant health.

TL:DR,
When brewing, you have to be cautious what amendments you use as most manures and animal byproducts will cause health issues.
When in doubt, ewc and just plant meals.

Hell yeah bro LAB is boss  I also make vinages and bokashi =lab, yeast and worm castings plus like wheat mill these are all facultative anaerobes edit aka probiotics

They ride the line between oxygen and low to no oxygen like for instance there is no oxygen in a stomach but you can be healthy and you can get sick it’s all about balance ok ok I’ll start a thread lol

Yes you are right I brew first then I add my FAA after brewing then serve it’s just to risky for me as well if it’s was working bro I would go for it once I started feeding plants to plants all my little issues went away now I’m trying to find genetic potential Im excited I just started this like quest like pheno - quest lol from land race I feel there is so much potential still there untapped  exciting edit I’m hoping @upstate will, would, be willing to part with one of those badass sativa’s hes the got idk wishful thinking lol

Thats a beautiful batch

Indeed.
Not enough people truly pheno hunt with multiple clones from a single plant to be grown out in different environments with different cation balances and different microbes.

Nice.
I was working on making a thread earlier, but then my phone fucked up and lost everything i typed up :upside_down_face:
I look forward to seeing your thread

I’m going to use seed from open pollination but I do believe that I can/does happen I also believe the angle of the sun affects epigenetics that’s a whole nother rabbit whole lol edit it can/does , I was referring to different clones from same plants ability to express differently in different environment

Yeah, i did a bit if research into light temperature and light angle back in the day. That’s how I came across CMH lights. Originally designed for art galleries, but ended up being the best option for cannabis.
I noticed the trippiest strains come from 5-20⁰ Lat because of the light angle.

Also how does altitude / Elevation play a role in cannabis? Like in the Hymilayas what effects does that play on the plants mechanism’s ?

This is getting deep I like where this is going! Sorry but this is over my head, you guys keep brainstorming I like it!

UV increases exponentially with elevation.
Also, you get more drastic light angle on mountains.

Some people use UV-B lights, but its really toxic to our skin, so you need to have a kill-switch set up so when you open the door to the grow room it shuts off automatically. I liked using MV lamps because of the UV, but that messed up my eyes real good before I knew what was up

I’m a welder I know what you mean, about your eyes being messed up :joy:

Hey @upstate , my bad I thought this was a trading post thread lol my bad no so I been doing some reading, and in order to be a freak I have to get an overgrow badge and in order to receive the badge I have to complete a co-op seed run, correct? Is the Peshawar seed run sufficient? Reason I ask is it’s the land races I’m most interested in. Or do I have to start my own? I just want to make sure I have everything in order so come spring I’m good to go
