Landrace preservation and hybrids project

Hey man! Dont worry, y’all can use this thread to trade and whatever! Sharing is caring! You can talk whatever you want as long as it involves landraces, though for trading, ask for it and ask for a PM, but also ask in the trading threads or co-op runs, I will try and do one co-op run in couple months.

Quick update! Turned out I have 2 males, Double Jam and Lambsbread redstem IBL, the crosses will be Durban x Lambsbread, Durban x Double Jam, Double Jam F5 and Double Jam(long flower phenos) x lambsbread, hopefully everything goes well, the DJ male today opened the first pollen sack, we will see. Soon photos!

Will save you some beans then! Sorry y’all for the delay but the last indoor run(which had the sativas mix) failed horribly due to heat waves, so I had to stick to outdoors, and already gave away ruderalis seeds(which its what I got), now im waiting for the magic to happen. Will update then!

Taking cuttings and seeing the different expressions in different environment/stressers is really interesting I’ve been thinking about it ever since you posted it and through epigenetics and genetic drift you can/might can get different phenos you might/should see expressions you never seen at least that’s the theory see I’m working with seed but that work there is very intriguing and using clones you would see exactly how much it effects this or that, that’s a super rad idea

It makes me wonder what the first OG Kush variants looked like the first couple years.

Sorry to interrupt, but I have a kali cut that very easily changes “phenotype” depending on the environment. it even looks like a completely different plant. I show you photos. This pics, are all the same cut in different enviroment

@Alta.Gama - Do you know what factors led to the bigger versions at the top vs the small version on the bottom?

I have no idea, the 3 were grown by me, with the same nutrients, but i remember in that crop I used growth technology liquid oxygen in flowering, right now I have a cut with 1 week of flora and I am going to give it liquid oxygen and rey to replicate.

Smells, taste, same? Or different? Try adding different stress factors see if you can force a change , take one to the valley take one to bout 2,000ft/700m , or add uv then take them all the way to finish then reveg In theory it’s should start drift like the first clone stress it hard then reveg it should start to adapt to it’s environment/different expressions edit Do the shnauz berries taste like shnauz berries? Lol

the smell, taste, and high dont chance, is the same. The truth is that this plant surprises me more every day.

You do realize that liquid oxygen is just h2o2 which is peroxide just thought you should know I hope you ain’t paying to much for that

I only use coco substrate. canna a+b, calmg, and fulvic, that’s my basic, but I have a friend who has a store and always gives me weird things to try. anyway it is not expensive and it comes quite concentrated. that thing burns your fingers

I myself had wondered if BB came from Hawaii/ BOEL and DJ just worked the line or whatever.
I know a guy who got BOEL seeds and one line was called Mr. Blue, and it too is a pre-DJ BB line.

Plus, the first years of breeding in Hawaii were with Thai, Mexi, Affy.

DJ S said him self that he got his seeds from BOEL and crossed them with a RKS from california to get both flo and blueberry…

Listen to the episode of the potcast and he talks about what he did and which strains in detail. Also where all the P1s where from.

Pz :v:t2:

Time for an update!
So far the season is going well, the Durban and the DJs are doing wonderful.

I already pollinated everything with the DJ male, the beans are already maturing, and im now using the lambsbread male on the most longflowering DJs.

The cross list is:

  • Double Jam F5(many phenotypes)
  • Durban x Double Jam F4
  • Double Jam F4(Only the longflowering phenos) x Lambsbread redstem

I wonder on the cross with the lambsbread how much of the progeny will be true lambsbread, the Double jam by itself yielded a variety of phenos by itself, most of them really longflowering, one of them being redstem too.

The aromas are really really good, the durban kind of gives anise tones with sweet citric fragance, the smell is strong, it gets up your nose good lol. On the Double jam, I see spices being on everyone, and a minty scent on the shortest flowering one, another aroma thats on everyone its floral, the redstemmed one tho kind of stands out, it got the spices, floral and something that makes her different but idk what tbh.

Well… No more talk!

^^^This one its the redstem I mentioned

^^^This one its the fastest flowering one

^^^This one its another DJ pheno, really really wispy, idk if it may be because of ambiental conditions, but it grew under the DP

^^^This is the one I think its the one with longest flowering time

Then we have also the Durban

This last one is a mix of 2 DJ and Durban pollinated buds

Oh also, method of pollination, it was open pollination with the DJ, the male was quite small and the longflowerings werent ready for pollination, so it was easy to keep them apart, also the lambsbread male started to drop pollen a week after I chopped the DJ male. The lambsbread male its being kept indoors so I pollinate manually.

Growing method is full organic living soil
