Landrace preservation and hybrids project

The Law of Averages says you’ll find some shorter-flowering individuals in a population of thousands upon thousands. Selecting and breeding those specimens is time-consuming and difficult, I’d imagine. You can’t blame them for increasing yield and shortening flowering times. Thankfully, there are people who are preserving the original landrace genetics.

It seems like F1s would be unpredictable, especially if the parents were very different.

Time for a little update!

Double Jam earliest pheno, you can see I snatched already some seeds to check them. This one was left to grow natural, no topping nothing, just some lower bud work courtesy of my chickens. Im going to give her a good check and probably chop her. I have some tester buds drying so I will do a review soon on that.

So far the Double Jam line has been a pleasure to grow, I think this one its even older than the USC one based on what Angus from RSC. The other phenos are going into late Dec or early Jan.

^^^ This one its the Durban, the leaves are getting clearer and even turning purple/black, some of the buds too.

Skelly/Puck is tightly held.
I just listened to Bodhi on the potcast say that he isnt cleared yet to have it.

Auto’s like to have a lot of space for their roots from the very beginning, repotting them seems to stunt them more, they don’t play well with others when I sow several in the same pot, from my experience they do best when sowed straight into their final pot. :+1:

Soo time for an update! So far, the strains smoked really well, the long flowering phenos of the DJ being the best I’ve ever tried. The Durban though, its my daily driver, but goddamn, its the first time I can say I slightly tripped on weed, it wasnt strong, but you could see the things “flowing” like you would with some shrooms. The flavour its very good, and the high, when you dial in your dose, its a very good high as it doesnt stop you from doing anything, but at the same time if you smoke too much… yk . Meanwhile the DJ its there like a tool, I use it to get the vibe, and also I started vaping it and damn, a good dynavap bowl(maybe two or three, if you like fun lol) and you will start feeling it almost instantaneously

The Durban unfortunately I tried to save it but it had a spontaneous death, she just started to have druppy leaves and it just died. I have to say though, it was incredible, the buds turned reddish brown entirely! And the trichomes and smell persisted after very windy days, rain and cold. And the thing that mostly shocked me, no trace of mold…

Fortunately I have seeds from her cross with the DJ to try and search. but it will be a long run!

I also did a germination test on the Double Jam x MPGs 60s Lambsbread, and omfg! they germinated mostly overnight, and once in the soil, they went straight from cotyledon to 3 point leaves!

The germination test was totally succesful, 100% rate, and with very very good vigour. I will do a seedrun on these to get them to F2 where they will start to show more recessive traits and then the selection process will start, to only get the longest flowering specimens.

Also there will be more stuff about the ruderalis soon… but still a lot of planning to do.

Beautiful markings on your cat The “marble” or “swirl” pattern is really cool. I had one with that pattern, but it was brown (a very unusual color for a cat; I’d never seen that shade of brown, except on Siamese) over a white background. He was also the loudest and most talkative cat I’d ever seen. Every time I came home from work or going into town, he would greet me at the door and chew me out for leaving him alone (I guess). It was strange that he would not touch fish, but loved to hunt birds. He actually caught a hummingbird at least once. I miss that little dude.
Sorry to get off-topic. Really nice plants, by the way. What’s the flowering time on the Double Jam?

Will keeping them in smaller containers make them flower sooner?

Thank you.
Do you know anyone I could ask for a seed pack with a mix of phenol types and some early finishers
