Landraces of India

I’ve seen this repeatedly. Interesting.

Imagine if that trait could be used to make giant buds…imagine the resin that could fit on a corm kernel! Jack and the bean stalk weed! I wonder if any resin at all is on the seed husk( calyx). Could you use culinary cannabis to breed giant calyx plants?

Now that would be an interesting project…
Would you pick something possibly close like a Thai or go for maximum dissimilarity like an Afghani?
What would the breeding program be?

In interesting thought exercise …

I really don’t know…i would love to see how the seeds look on the plant and how the plant looks. The seeds must be spaced out a bit( string of pearls type) , or you’d think so anyway. Must take a lot of energy for the plant to make one so big. I’ll try to find pictures…

The photo Clarke published was just the side by side line-up.
It would be neat to see the plant structure.

You are right @romanoweed those would be better (beastly big buds :+1: too)

The smallest seeds I have and have ever seen are some Kashmir I got from Indian landrace exchange , the eastern Manipur Burma are small also but nothing like the Kashmir.

Ace seeds have recently released a lot of Indian, Afghani and Pakistani land races that are very interesting there are a few with good tolerance to rain

Quite interesting but but calyx size and how early the male releases pollen will vary seed size too. I find indica seeds to be bigger than sativa seeds in general but not exclusively

This is why I was so interested in Snowhighs Fuijian hemp variety. Here’s it next to (I don’t remember the strain) a regular sized seed.

I remember first afghan i.smoked and I was convinced the size of the tiger striped seeds had something to do with the potency…lol

It this the one from Indian Landrace Exchange? I grew two but got one male, and one intersex so did not get to see a flowering female. I’m looking forward to following along with this one to see what you get.

Looks like the stretch has begun! When did you flip the lights?

It is and I had to start a bunch to get a few normal looking ones. I’m about 90% sure the big one is a boy . The leaves already have a very unique smell when rubbed that reminds me of the how the original strawberry cough smelled @Upstate she is still in veg haven’t even flipped the lights yet :smirk:

Look like she is going to be a tall one, but just about a perfect bush if you remove the main trunk. Looking good. When will you flip lights?

I received this info to day from shiva
Hopefully this helps

Yes sir sure.

The whole plant will be trimmed back aggressively, I’m not planning on flipping the light on these until the beginning of February. They have such a long flower period my goal is to give them feb and March indoors and then move them outside in April and hope they finish by the end of may using a light dep the last half of may.
16-20 weeks of flower and my intention is to make more of these beans while also crossing it to a paki chitral kush and a Afghan , either Kandahar or mazar.
