Landraces of India

To me it doesn’t look like Sheelavati, it’s a lot sparse than sheelavati. Though I might be wrong.

I found some Sheelawathi pics. You’re right. Super dense weed.

My buds were fluffy. I think the way they process them cob style leads to the way they look in those pictures.

This was mine:

Its definately the press that does that, but even after pressing you can tell the buds are much bigger and chunkier than other South Indians in lots of cases.
How did you like the smoke? How many weeks did she go?

FYI, I keep notes on all mine and the Eastern Manipur-Burma plants all took between 9 and 15 days to show sex in a small tent under LED 11/13. They were all clones and in small clone pots. In the greenhouse at the 35th parallel 1000’ elevation they took about 5 months to flower.

*(Lower Ulleri and Upper Chuile Annapurna, Acapulco Gold and Oldtimer’s Haze all took the same 5 months to flower).

Yep. 11/13 makes a big difference. Thanks for that bit of information. Tell me. Which cultivars were you growing that when you noticed the benefits of 11/13?

Did you keep males and if so how long before they started to drop pollen ?

It wasn’t any particular cultivar the triggered using 11/13. I just read about it a few years ago and decided to give it a shot. I really liked the idea of saving 1 hour of electricity per light, per day and after trying it, the plants seem to show a little different expressions. I think they might actually flower a little faster too. I can’t find any reason not to run 11/13 now.

@Heritagefarms - Didn’t keep any males. They went in a greenhouse 10/27 and the one male didn’t start dropping pollen until about 3 weeks.

Khalifa Genetics uses 11/13. He says they flower correctly that way. I assume that means they ripen properly.

The rugged terrain and isolated valleys are precisely what creates new variations, subspecies and species. India is also a very large country with innumerable microclimates.

I’ve heard that Nepalese tend to have a sativa structure, but indica effects. That probably has something to do with the high amount of CBD Nepalese tend to have.

I’ve wondered what makes Nepalese different… like Nepal all the Northern Indian states have cbd plants( 25% cbd dominant), but, differently, Nepal can have high thcv levels too. Not sure that would do it.

High CBD and THC-V simultaneously would have an interesting effect. Most strains high in THC-V are either landrace sativas or bred from landrace sativas.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like the Himalayan landraces get really tall. Once they finally make it legal here, I’d like to grow a six or seven-meter plant because…why the hell not?
