Me too! Lots of good big Himalayan types to choose from these days. Seems like the tallest( with any consistancy) are from Parvati Valley Himalayan villages such as Rasol, Malana, Grahan Village…, but all Himalayans can get tall.
It’s variation himalayensis, which also seem to have a higher CBD content. I’m thinking cross that with a WLD that also gets large and has high CBD levels. Eventually you’ll get a big yielder with high CBD.
Interesting, nearly all my sativa’s, including my goruka are flowering outdoors right now with 13/11… here close to the equator the most dark we get in mid winter is 11/13… so 2 hrs difference across the year, as far as I can tell, everything, grows to maturity and flowers here all year round, it’s just that the sativa seem to not mature till they are about 7 foot.
If I get my timing dead right I can harvest and they will reveg and give me another round…
This one had almost a pound chopped off it about 2 weeks ago and it’s back in reveg mode so I should be able to get another pound off it in a few months I guess.
So pretty much you grow and flower whenever and the plants cooperate whether the days are getting longer or shorter, is that right? If so, it goes well with what I have learned about tropicals. They flower based on age.
That’s it, and because the sun is a more intense the closer you are to the equator growth is a lot faster, they might reach maturity in 8 weeks, but that can make them 2 metres by the time they even start to flower!
There are no real winter/summer cycles, so strictly photoperiod would be a dead end for the plants at the equator so I think they basically adapt to become a perennial type plant.
Could that account for the plant’s ability to re-veg?
Cheers

The Eastern Manipur Burma I have going are acting like a photo period so far.
I think so. I’m quite surprised cannabis has not become a perennial in more countries.
If you can’t light dep, maybe you could put up a fence panel and make sure no light gets through to decrease the light to the plant.
Oh man. I’m jealous. I’m still waiting on beans from Shiv. It’s been months…
I’ve been waiting since early November sometime too.
Delta variant hit India right when I ordered and screwed everything up. Sucks. I was planning on growing them right away.
Where he is, it’s always short days.
Where did you get those?
Oh, I’m not the only one?
…I’m waiting too.
Cheers

They were Nierika releases. Full names on labels are Lower Ulleri Annapurna Nepali Himalaya & Upper Chuile Annapurna Region Nepal.
The Lowers are the smallest cannabis seeds I’ve ever seen in my life and the Upper flower looks more feral/landrace like. Both have a nice floral/citrus like smell to them similar to the Oldtimer’s Haze.
I have some highland Nepali from Panauti Village that also are the tiniest seeds I’ve seen.
Does anyone have experience growing plants from this region? Or know if these would likely be big stretchers?
I just compared them to sesame seeds and they are about the same exact size and shape, but not flat like the sesame seed. That’s prob the easiest reference besides measuring them.
I saw that selection available from Nepal. It’s definitely on my to do list. Most Himalayan plants stretch quite a lot because they are used to competing for Sunshine with other plants. Typically bottom quarter or third of the plant will be nothing but stalk. I think Nepalese plants branch better than other himalayans but be prepared for that stretch. Some Growers coil the stem around the container until the branches begin.
Small seeds like the ones you are talking about are a b**** to germinate. Best to go straight into good soil with mycorrhizae in it. Aloe and/ or peroxide treatment before hand. The seed size sound similar to what I experienced with lolab Valley. Two plants out of 50 seeds came up a full year after I planted them. Good luck! Supposed to be a great high.
Thanks @Upstate for this info, would you recommend a short, maybe four week veg?
I got 10 I’m gonna pop and w any luck I’ll turn them into more to share around in a few months.
I like a short veg myself. Around 3 weeks or so. 4 week sounds good, but I wouldn’t go any longer unless you plan on taking cuttings and flowering those. How much height do you have to work with?
