Landraces of India

And so it begins! The waiting is the hardest part, probably why so many samples disappear

What is PC1?

We’ll see if he comes thru for us. I hope so. If he does, for me at least, the wait will have been worth it.

It’s PureCrop1, an IPM spray I use from seed to harvest at various concentrations. It’s been super effective for me at keeping mold and bud rot at bay in my grows and since I didn’t want to chop this up to dip in plain water like I normally would, I used my sprayer and a little of this as surfectant. They describe it as a micellar oil suspension in a acidulated soap base, and it has vanillin which is very effective against candida and aspergillus. There’s a DIY recipe on OpenSalts but I have yet to try it, the brand name stuff is expensive but it’s concentrated such that one $25 pint lasts me about a year in both my yard and indoor growing. I use BTI as a larvicide but PC1 also kills the adult sap-sucking insects, by interrupting their digestive process so they starve.

I heard from Shiv today. My order has been mailed, so he’s working on it. @PineTarBastard you’ll hear from him soon, I bet. The last time he took so long with my order, I was beginning to cry, when some extra seeds showed up in my package and acted as a pacifier.

Yep, it’s still cooking along. I’ll post some pics tonight, when it’s lights on.

@Dirt_Wizard I just had a thought. Dry sift may not be so good for Malana. The resin is a very sticky, stretchy type resin. Imo bubble hash may be a better option. I’m sure you can make dry sift… I just think your yield/ quality would be better making ice water hash. Either way, good luck. Flavors are best with dry sift…quality probably best with bubble…in this case. :ok_hand:

Good to know! It does seem sticky rather than sandy on a first impression as I’m picking fan leaves off the one in my garage. I wonder if dry ice sift is the answer to firm up the resin? I don’t have the setup for bubble though I could figure it out, but I have a few different micron screens both poly and stainless in the house to put on a wood frame and dry sift with a reciprocating saw or similar. I’ve also seen some pretty impressive results using a paint shaker if I can find one of those.

Have you considered charas? Culturally, this seems to be a traditional method employed often over there when going the concentrate route:

Here’s the Araku Valley variety, from seed collected and sent to me by @iceman . Right around 14 wks under 11/13 and looking like it’s got a ways to go yet.

This girl gets the chop this weekend or sooner, she’s breaking my heart with how beautiful she’s gotten in late flower but I’ll have to console myself with photographs and the pound of buds or whatever she’s going to yield:

Lovely plants. Well done. The shallow focus in the last photo gives it a special quality. Almost aura-like. Ommmmmmmmmm…:person_in_lotus_position:t5:

In pakistan they wait for the first snow, Leaving the plants outside. If I was going to make bubble hash I would do the same thing. Put the buds in the freezer first or wait for the cold. I hear dry ice works too. Maybe worth trying a little?

A 5 gallon bucket, ice, and a set of $5 paint strainers ( made for a 5 gallon paint can) will make some great hash for cheap. You also need a drill with a paint mixing attachment or just a wooden spoon… OR My buddy widdled a spoon end so his drill could hold it… hand mixed is slower

I do like to sift in sub freezing temperatures, I’ve had my best results doing it in the unheated garage or back porch at 10-20F during the winter. I was trying to follow that guideline where the Afghanis would put it all in a covered but open to the element building and wait for the cold dry season

Well ok I do have that stuff I guess!

Hell yeah boys! The sisters are reunited in the garage and this season is done when it comes to the growing. Gonna have to invite a few friends over for a trim party because this is serious:
