In a well ventilated area, you can use an ozone generator and air stone,
increasing the contact time between the ozone and water molecules by holding the water in a 3ft high container with the air stone at the bottom, so the ozone can be taken up by the water more efficiently. For this to work you would need an in-line ozone generator, but the cheapest ones will eventually fail you because of punctures in the container where the ozone is generated in (because ozone is highly corrosive combined with the pressure that builds up by a pump pushing ozone out under 3 ft of waterpressure)). This means you have to make sure you are always around and do a regular check-up on bubbling and for ozone leaks because ozone is also corrosive to lung tissue. You can smell it easily before the concentration in the air becomes very strong but I wouldnāt advise trying to push your boundaries, this is pure oxygen meaning it will corrode anything and everything, including your bodily tissues, meaning if you inhale it pure, you will cough up blood and in the worst case you could die. Should be needless to say, but donāt fall asleep with an ozone generator on.
This is the other important reason to use a container at least 3 feet deep and to always place it in a well vented area. The depth allows more ozone to be stripped from the bubbles (In a tank 5 ft deep, before the water gets saturated, the bubbles nearly dissapear on their way up because of being taken up by the water, but at that depth the pressure in the cheap container the corona disharger is in, becomes large enough to burst the container), and when the depth is optimal you wouldnāt be able to smell much ozone at all for the first half hour or so, or see much bubbling occur. It looks more like a giant glass of sparkling water, and with more CO2 and N gasses escaping from it than actual ozone or oxygen that point, thatās close to what it is too!
But like I said, the containers donāt like the pressure much and they will burst with tiny holes in the beginning, leaking more and more ozone into your well-vented area until itās no longer sufficiently vented so you notice the smell, or until the stone simply stops emitting a stream of nearly dissapearing bubbles.
You can find ozone generators on ebay and the likes, and for handy people there are cheaper ākitsā that hold the same cheap parts as the regular home units do. Thereās also a professional segment of ozone generators, I wouldnāt swing that cash towards a home ozone enrichment installation, but if you have the cash and can find one, it might be a worthwhile investment as these professional units are capable of being used for a lot more, for instance in agriculture, in construction, in clean-up, scent prevention, and even in pest management as a consumer and pet safe insecticide and, when combined with a coolmist unit, even a miticide.
