Not to argue, but I’ve been able to price in more EB strips per fixture than the store bought ones. So better coverage and penetration. Also can run them softer, ie less wattage. And I like building things. No solder. I use the push in buggers.
And to be pedantic:
Also, invest in a AFCI/GFCI outlet. Will trip if any arcing happens or there are grounding issues. Can save a life and a home. Same for premade units. Just because they are premade doesn’t make them fool proof.
