I’m curious, any idea on… if I have a male, want to use it as my " one" male for simplicity. would taking a clone from it to have up the road for the back cross be as good as using pollen from the original male?

Taking a clone could potentially be better, just because you wouldn’t run out of pollen. The pollen from the clone should be the same as the original though.

I don’t know, makes sense in my brain just wonder if it works perfectly in practice. I rather do a room of cloned males once to have pollen and never have to worry about the male in the cross again.
As long as stored properly, I don’t see you having any issues.
