Lemon G from Ohio is my all time favorite strain. I have lived in Southeastern Ohio for all of my life (35 years) and it is the flavor that always hits home for me. All through high school i played in bands and got this magical plant. It always came from Athens, OH or Columbus, OH. You could always tell the true lemon g. Lemon pledge flavor through almost every hit, fluffy looking.
Now with laws changed in ohio, i can grow it myself!! I have a Lemon G Bx from Equilibrium seeds that i got as regular seed growing at the moment.
It is Lemon G x Lemon Lotus (Snow Lotus x Lemon G).
I still have a few more weeks on her, but she is looking and smelling wonderful! Definitely a sativa!
What are your guys experiences with Lemon G?

I am supposed to have the oldschool clone very soon. I have the old Ohio G13, and Ohio Dumpster, both the originals, also got a 30+ year original G13. Lemon G is supposed from those lines I have heard it rumored. Once I get it going I will be glad to share it with you and give you back the stuff you remember. It’s a pretty sure thing I think.

what do you think about that bud structure?
super tough trim job and not much bud. a bit surprised it was so popular.
i just trimmed a sweet tooth that looked like that. it sucked.

I am excited for it! Touching the buds makes my hands smell like lemon cleaner, so i hope it has a similar taste!
@splinter7 i have yet to harvest one of these Lemon g plants. It looks like it has huge calyx on it. Im not to worried about the yield, as it looks like it is healthy and doing fine throughout the grow. Tomorrow marks week 8 for it in flower, but it didnt start flowering till 3 weeks after light flip, so that 8 week is a guesstimate.
I just harvested a '89 Northern Lights #5 Bx from green bodhi! It had a wonderful structure!

Looks different than I thought. The only experience I have with it is a few years ago in the PA medical program, Terrapin had a nice Lemon G, which had more CBD’s in it than most stuff. People would come in shopping for the highest THC%, so it was often passed over. I really enjoyed it.
I grew out some Lemon Cello, and the cross I made out of that turned out to be the most calming high I’ve ever had. and it carried thru to the seeds I made out of that one tiny plant. So I’ve been busy with that. got a dozen crosses to grow & smoke test. see if that trait carried thru. The other stuff I’m growing is a 1:1 thc:cbd strain. I took a bunch of clones for the summer.
Ya, my needs are more on the medical side. Something for anxiety and something for pain. Lyme disease sucks. and I’d rather stay off all the stuff like gabapentin they keep trying to give me. Lemon G is one of those names if you see it on the menu, you pick it up.

yeah, huge calix. like a single stack or finger of calyx.
like this:
that nl5 looks good. i wondered about GBs gear. been running the 89 NL5 cut from swgenetx. it looks not too different. it was a little leafier than most modern stuff. colors are different, but could be due a few things. it is pretty sensitive to light issues, but it was run as a SOG. I think the bigger plant is less stable. how’s the smell? mine cured out to pine with a mild green olive funk.

My NL when you touch it or grind the buds smell like banana boat sunsceen mixed with nitrocellulose lacquor! The smell kind of disapated after chop.
Im growing under a 400w Vevor LED grow light 26inx26in. 5 gallon fabric pots with ACI self wattering bases and the fox farm trio.

I was giving my Lemon G a little to much nitrogen it appears. The leaves were dark and waxy looking. Rust dots started already and the tips of the leaves have changed.
I have just been feeding straight distilled water for the past week to try to correct it but its progressing still. Im guessing im close to week 8 on these.

Lemon G is my favorite strain, I was gifted very generously some cuts of the Ohio cut from another OG member and I’ve held onto it for about 8 months now, and will probably indefinitely. I also have a collection of Lemon G bx seeds, and a few lemon G crosses from CSI.
I also very recently listened to a podcast about some of the Ohio strains Listen to Pipsweed Of Souvenir Seeds Ohio Strains Deathstar Lemon G13 Silver Pearl Sour Diesel NoPix S07 E01 by Breeders Syndicate 2.0 Podcast on #SoundCloud
One thing that struck me about the info on Lemon G from the podcast was that it took Pipsweed about 5 years to really dial in Lemon G as it seems to be very finicky. My last flower run I had too much nitrogen and there was a lot of single leaf expression and the buds never really swelled up, even when I cut her down at 77 days. Definitely a bitch to trim, I ended up making live resin out of almost all of it, which came out fantastic.
My issue with it(besides still learning how to grow it), is that it doesn’t really wash or press well, so when I get to breeding, I’m going to try to cross it with either something stupidly frosty that washes great and hunt for a good washer while keeping the lemon g flavor profile, or find something lemon-y that washes decent and then hunt through that cross. Currently potentially have a line on a Lemonheads #4 cut, which is Lemon G x Face Off OG. Fingers crossed, though 710 labs holds onto their cuts pretty tightly.

I got a cut of Lemon G off Strainly. Shes about 3 weeks into flower right now and she is easily the largest and most robust plant in the tent and def. seems sativa dom… Just hope she’s the real thing, though everything else I’ve gotten from this vendor has fit the descriptions to a T. Once she really gets crankin I;ll post a pic and you lemon G people can let me know.

I was gifted this as a clone of lemon g. It seems to be the right lemon smell as of now. I smoked the lemon g regularly when it was originally circulated years ago, so once its finished I should be able to tell if its the real deal but I’m curious how the growth structure compares to other peoples lemon g.

Looking forward to trying it. I haven’t usually been a huge fan of citrus dom strains, but my buddy says it’s his favorite hands down, so I said I’d give it a run and do my best to keep a cut around if he needs it back.

I will be on the lookout for that one too.

I grew Bodhi’s Lemon Wookie V2, which is Lemon G x Wookie 15
It was good and I grew it a few times but ultimately let it go because I have too many strains to try!
Interesting bud formations
The one on the right…
