7.5 days in, we have roots! 5 clones so far…
P.S. No dome, no rooting gel or hormones, PH’d tap water and a pinch of one of two part (sans cal nitrate). 18/6 and stuffed in the corner on the floor of one of my veg tents.

Love this thread, playing with the plants is so daggon fun.
Epic thread, following along!
Thanks for the love guys, I like to get nerdy with this stuff, so happy to have some like minded folks follow along.
These are not new, and some unedited, but wanted to do a dump so I can post later what things look like under the hood and be current.
Also, we’re doing some cloning in a 50ml beaker and some foam. You’d think auto B2 wouldn’t have more branches to give, but she does. This gem of a plant is among the 5 best out of the 100+ beans I popped over 10 days. She smells like Funyuns, she smells and looks nothing like like her sisters and is twice the size of two of them, roughly the same size but surpassing her sister who’s further along in flower.
Oh, that bud, that’s one of the marathon OG F5, I did a small amount of F5, from another breeders selection, so it’s my selection of another breeders selecting pf Daz and Darkhorses selection. These things are wild… here’s a sister’s bud and a bud from some regular auto work I did. Mom was an Amnesia fem that pulled over a lb. From in hydro, dad was a blueberry that’s proven to be an excellent base for all my auto regs.
Every time I pop my seeds I pop Barney’s, Fast Buds, Mephisto, Night/dark owl stuff along with a random mix of twenty20, Roc, and a few others. I’m competitive and I strive for greatness with the things I love I’m also fortunate enough to have the means to buy a Honda’s worth of seeds and be able to pop them by the hundreds. I’m pretty confident that out of the 100ish beans that at least 5 of the top 10 plants are from my work. I’d have to look, but I think Mephisto, fast buds, and Daz had me beat quantity wise.
So, at the very least, I’m on the right track and what I’ve accomplished these last 4 years feels good. Now I’m making fems from my reg stock, because no one wants Regs. But I refused to go easy mode and just slap together a couple gems from other breeders and call it a day. While I’ve soured on Mephisto, I really appreciate the work they’ve done and the care they put into it along with their descriptions.
I’m hoping to go a step beyond. I don’t see auto breeders documenting their work thoroughly much. I’m hoping to crank things up. If you get gems from me you’ll be able to see the very plants that made it in the family tree, including the boy that produced the girl that mare your fems. It might be overly ambitious, but it’s my goal.
P.S. Interestingly, two of the three that the rooted first were not mine, all three were smaller clones and had pretty evident stigmas and early flowers, if it’s a good plant it’s grow and veg and stack at the same time. There’s the B2 from fast buds, forbidden Runtz from fast buds, and then mine. That first set of pics shows B2 and F Runtz
If that is a “standing offer”, by all means “Holla at ya Boi”!! I’ll “redistribute” ANY/ALL you care to put into circulation…TRUE DAT!!. Just putting it out there, SS/BW…mister
Sad news folks, I let the B2 kratky get too low and the base dried. They should just be tossed, but in the interest of science, I snipped the stem and gave them a spray. I’ll report a miraculous recovery.
So, seems we have some clones! What do you guys want to see now?!
Should we reverse some of them, try to get as much yield and seed as possible from them? Up pot them and take a second round of clones from some plants? I could try documenting pollinating a clone, then growing them and pollinating mom with the progeny for a BX. I’ve done it once, confident I can do it again…
Has anyone tried tissue culture with autos. Would that revert them back to veg?
@GreenHighland I haven’t, I really want to learn to do TC. I’m very curious how ann anuth would react. After years of coral farming, it seems right in my alley.
Last night…
I also tried to clone this auto when topping my SSSC Creeper auto and I felt bad about throwing it away as it was such a nice cutting.
Only things I did was dip in IBA powder, soak the plug in water + Rhizotonic. I keep it moist with just tap water. It has been alive for about 2 weeks now like this, but it’s not yet showing roots on the exterior of the cube, I’ll have a bit more patience.
I’ll update on the progress of this plant in a few weeks
Cheers
eS
I’ve had pretty good results putting cuttings in cubes and having them root in the past. Good luck! Lots of foliar spray helps.
It appears that I’ve found the autoflower science division. I’ll be lurking
Hell yeah… I’m down with autos and will be following along
Doing a run of them with some photos outside this summer. Autos are super fun and it’s good to see people talking about working with them more.
Here are a few 17 days from snip. I’ve transferred some to a DWC bucket to get the list size and seeds possible
Always interesting seeing the collar and how much light brings out purpling, while no light will maintain green seems. Noted by a couple clones that I moved up in the collar. Those two were the last red root, marathon OG. Very woody OG like pheno.
I lost one clone in the cloner, a cereal milk, which was one of two photos in the cloner and was because it got tipped over and dried. So yeah, 100% success with the autos, some in under 10 days, many instead of 2 weeks, and all inside of 3 weeks.
I have done in plugs, they’re still alive, I haven’t checked for roots, but they’re definitely not doing what the cloner clones have. One of these clones is already bigger than all the autos from my last run when I went a little too far stress testing… there are some bonkers plants in the mix. Two of the amnesia haze are giants, four if the Z x Blueberry are getting quite big and loaded with branches… those all clones really well and are looking like little plants
Just got this nice ass package in the mail from @Acro, thanks for the generosity. I was really surprised you sent so many strains. That was very OG of you buddy!
