That’s a very nice bit of luck catching those shots. Owls are one of the coolest things to photograph.
Yeah, ive gotten a few pictures of this bird before further up in the thread. One of my favorite neighbors ![]()
Nice hooter
Nice @breadwinner !
I know we have owls but the fuckers are too
. I see sky-raptors nearly daily but those fucking
's.
The other week after the major snow dump I was driving home and for the first time actually saw an owl flying down my street.
The snow was so thick and so heavy that I was seeing rabbits running around on the street getting in and out of properties through open driveways because the snowbanks were too high and steep for them to climb and to frozen to dig.
I’m sure this perfect killing field is how I saw the thing silently prowling for food.
It came and left in complete silence. Makes you freeze and stop breathing when you see it.
Perfect description of my mindset when I see them @breadwinner .
What’s that blue dot?
The ducks and geese are back. We’ve had mallards, wood ducks,
and mergansers show up in the last couple weeks. They were two weeks later this year over last. Last year was a very mild winter and this one was more average. The last of the ice on the
pond left about a week ago.
Mergansers
Mallards
Canadian Geese
Wood Ducks and Turkey
They don’t seem to read very well. But they sure love our vegetation. We don’t love them as much, but they are pretty cute when this small.
until they are well prepared (breaded and fried) with biscuits and gravy on the side.
Then we love them… a lot.
I hope this offends not one person.
If so, I apologize profusely, but please remember… I don’t judge you for killing plants and devouring them… And we all love plants… ![]()
None taken here! Our middle son, pickiest eater of the land, will eat stew rabbit go figure!
