Unlike a pest infestation, a viroid is generally not something that is easily observable without testing. This makes it even more dangerous, because signs of the infection won’t show until later in the growth cycle.

It can present as low vigor, low resin production, leaf variegation or mottling, and new growth points or branching that stall out and never develop. any one of these symptoms can be an indicator.

Strict precautions are your best defense. If you grew out infected plants, by the time you saw evidence of the viroid the whole grow would likely be exposed and infected.

Transmission happens very easily, through soil, plant matter, touching an infected plant and then touching other plants, and garden tools. garden tools like pruning shears should be completely sterilized. I think the commercial cannabis industry method for tool cleaning is to clean and remove all plant matter and soil, then a 24 hour soak in bleach.

alcohol do not have any effect on the viroid
bleach must be used
for instant the clones are very vigorous, the core cut has some 7 leaves blades
only way is to flower one of each and to see how it finish i guess

there was some thrips on the clones, they just go a spray of spinosad
usually its one shot with this product
very efficient

UP
is there any expert on spotting dudded plants during veg ?

Send a sample to a lab…

In Google you can find good studies about HLVD. But quickly :

  • this virus starts in cereal industry. It affects cannabis with the same problems : low yields, low resin, transmission way isn’t yet identified between plants, it’s proved seeds from affected plants can be affected too
  • you identify this problem only with laboratory tests
  • the virus spread easily (even the pollen in the air can affect all your other plants)
  • no treatment to this problem. You have to put all to garbage and clean all your material with “alcohol isopropylique”
  • some professionals say in vitro culture starting with a meristem of a plant can recover a plant from this problem. But other professionals say it isn’t proved yet because HLVD can “sleep” during months maybe years and restart. And those in vitro experiments are too young to say : yes it’s a good solution.

Be careful with this.

You can see a lot of studies from research science because it’s actually a big problem for the industry of food, and they aren’t able to find a solution. And it’s a worldwide problem in food industry. Not only in USA.

Hope it can help you. All the best everybody

I cant because of my localisation
plus i doubt about the reliability of these … as much as cow- veed pcr tests…

thank you man i know all about this
if i may… alcohol isnt a good disinfectant
bleach diluted at 10% in water is advised

it seems the clones from growisland are infected with hplvd
lateral branching without cutting any apex, a few crooked leaves here and there
no mosaic on leaves though

when i see strong lateral branching i see red now …
lets go hunt some seeds…

hello, if you have the amnesia core cut in your clone stash, please dm me!

Hey @SOGfanatic
Have you come to a conclusion? Are they infected with a virus?
I recently looked at their offer. I would love to have the Core cut and am close to ordering it

Can anyone else point me to a good source?

Thanks

Is The White (from Krome) available anywhere? I remember @santero working with the cut at some point…

How about Chem D, Chem '91 or the Josh D/Ghost cut of OG Kush? Or the A5 Haze? Soma’s Lavender?

I’m only interested about the classics, really. I’d love to have cuts of Clackamas Coot’s The One (1976 Highland Thai x 1971 Kandahar Afghan), '77 Cali-O, '81 Skunk #1 and the 70’s Acapulco Gold. But I know that having these will remain a distant dream for quite some time. They aren’t circulated that widely in the US, either. Largely because people consider the plants inferior when compared to the modern high-THC candy.

Maybe some day, after the international treaties have been changed and plant genetic material can be freely exchanged, we can have cuttings which do not have so much commercial potential in the modern market - but have more of a cultural value and usefulness in breeding new varieties.

But yeah, in the meantime, I’d like to see at least a few of the foundational 30-year old cuts make their way around Europe. Who knows what kind of wild flavours will be found when our local varieties get crossed with the pure OG and Chems.

I got those freebees about 5 years ago. I took two males for open pollenation on three females. I then took the f2s and worked with the most Blueberry Sativa leaning ones to make two different f3 lines, one short and one tall, but both very much sativa leaning, even the short one. Next season I will test f2s and the different f3 lines to see what we can get out of those seeds. The parents so far have been very thin, branchy, tall sativa plants with a significant guava punch perfume and slightly citric aromas coming from the Tangie, I suspect.

The high has been a high ceiling, all smiles high, with a slow and steady ascension to a very kind plateu where you can have very meaningful conversations and sort of step into the intimate world of others. In my case, it helps me let go of work-related stress and actually tune into or listen to what other people care about or are worrying about, give meaningful advice or feedback, without feeling drained while enjoying music on another level and doing daily chores with pleasure and motivation. Like an anti-depressant. Some phenos can be a bit jittery at first, but most are a very kind trip from start to finish. If I find some pictures, I´ll post them.

I have come to call it Blue Tangie Bean. This season I crossed the F3 selection to Santero’s SanFune (Holy Princess x Chocolate Cheese). The one plant I have grown inherited the guava from the BTB fathers and the cherry hawaiian punch from the SanFune in a short viny like plant which can be grown anywhere without practically being seen and flowers in just about 8 weeks.

For me they can be infected

Two things :

  • Ask them by mail to send you their hlvd tests. They didn’t reply me
  • see other shops that are known to be infected (same strain menu)

I didn’t took the risk to order, even for the Core Cut

Wassup Spunk
They were definitely infected
Sideway growth on every clones
Plus they came with spidermites, big redflag
How can you sell clones as a living and have spiders ?
They guys cant spray neem or spinosad once a week ?

Very disappointing, gave up on “elites”
Hlvd or IDKwhat is everywhere now
