Hello all this would be my first post i have a few runs under my belt, this is my first run in my new location, for my veg tent (2x4) temps usually around mid-high 70s and humidity is around 60-70% in the past ive put my light right in the middle of the tent on about 40% and they did great, now in my new space iv noticed them “shutting down” pretty early in the day for them say like 10 hours into a 18 hour light cycle, as for that i raised my light and dimmed it a little while i orderd a attachment for the photone app, while waiting for shipping i continued to observe and adjust and got them to a good place where they are looking happy until closer to lights out, i have gotten my photone attachment today and it happens to read a solid 50 ppfd for what i have it setup at and they are the happiest ive seen them this run they are about 5 weeks from seed and look about 2-3 weeks old, i am running the ac infinity lm301h 220 wat board for veg, could it just be an error on my part with photone or is this a case for supplementing co2, i tarped off a decent area in the basement for a grow space i wouldn’t say its 100% sealed also to note i am using “new” soil i have switched over to buildasoil for organics but haven’t seen any deficiencies
more to note i usually run 1 gallon pots for veg then upgrade a week or so before flip thanks for any and all advice and i apologize if my info is all over the place
Welcome to OG!!
picture’s speak a thousand words would be help full to maybe see if too much light the plant will tell you the leaves will taco or turn upside down the conditions seem good 70-70 is a nice spot to be there is a thing called DLI daily light input the amount of light we give to this plant would kill most other plants Cannabis can take a shit tonne of light without real harm if you think like the sun it does not shine bright everyday all day long cloudy days or rainy days is not full sun yet we hang a mini sun strait on top of the plants and hit them hard for 18 hours maybe those plants (genetics) are getting the light they need could try 16-8 for a week just too see if they dont shut down as early in the day.
ill grab a few pics, i haven’t noticed any tacoing or flipping, im trying to dial my stuff in as best as possible thats why i had gotten the photon app to help get my dli on track, im running two strains at the moment, i have 2 rickys hash plant (Brothers Grimm) and 2 zweet og (Ethos) at the moment right now i have my light as high up as it can go in the tent on the 2nd setting
Thank you!!
Introduce Yourself @OG (Part 4) you make a post over here and introduce yourself then i bet you will get a ton more traction here in this post we have had a bad run here of new people taking advantage of the good natured Ness of the fine folks that hang out here
What size pots do you switch to, and do you normally run 4 plants in 2x4?
Looks nice and healthy man nothing to worry ab that I can see. Without reflective walls prob can get away with more power but 16-24 in good standard range for lights during veg
i prefer to have larger pots than i do now for flower but im switching into 7 gallon fabric pots and my 2x4 is only for veg sometimes i only have a couple of plants and sometimes ill fill it up if i decide to clone something , when i flip ill bring them out under the big light i also have another smaller light ill flower under if i need the space, i just recently moved into a new grow space and just getting back up and going so its pretty empty at the moment
i agree i cant complain about the health just how slow the seem to be, i usually keep my light about 24 inches above the canoppy and about half power but these girls seem to not like it, ive had to raise the light up all the way and turn it down to 20% power for them to be happy again, the photone app says they are getting about 50 ppfd witch seems really low for them to still not be super long and lenky, ive started a couple more seeds to see if its just genetics but time will tell, thanks for the reply man hopefully these gals pick up the pace
just make sure your lights are at proper height (picture seem light is too high) are you using some nutrients ? for a QB consider 24inches that being said 30 inches for seedlings
today i noticed they were thirsty so i gave them a good water and set my light at a higher intensity just to see how they respond to it today, so far theyve only gotten rootwise a little bit of yahway and maybe TBS of gia green 4-4-4 for each plant to get going in buildasoil 3.0
Update: i went ahead and transplanted them into their 7 gallon pots and they are exploding in growth, sometime i did make a note of was the soil when i pulled the fabric pot away it was pretty dry considering i watered pretty heavy that morning so i believe i was having a watering issue aswell, but the girls are closer to the light and they have bigger shoes and they are happy, thank you to those who took their time to respond and give some insight i will make another update with pictures when we go into flower
