Hey @Hoppy. I received the 12 pack of Hopscotch. Thank you kindly. I will be reminiscing you shipping and a little extra for your trouble here shortly. Gotta wait to see how this Unemployment pans out. Should be good tho. Thanks bro.
Yeah @ReikoX. I think it was the ph. It droped in all my buckets. 4.5. There not connected so it was something I did yesterday. I guess I didnt wait long enough to check the PH again before I left it alone.
I cant wait untill I get something automated. At least something to warning me its to high or dropped to low.
DWC sounds like a lot of effort. The only person I know of who successfully runs water culture is @JoeCrowe.
Same thing happened to our friend. She had to wait the 6 months. They never responded, she got all her back pay as well.
I pick his brain⌠heâs got things figured out!
MostIy all do is DWC. Yesterday I just added more ph down then I needed. Without waiting for it to settle. It can be a pain at times. My last grow I was having more trouble with a soil grow then my DWC. Lol. I love my buckes. I get buds. But yes Mr. @JoeCrowe is verry good at what he dose. One day I plain on being as successful as JoeCrowe.
hah hah let me list my shattered dreams. I was young and foolish, thought⌠I dunno. That like, people could learn from me. Probably a decade ago, a friend of mine was looking at my grow room, and he says âYo, can you teach me to grow mass chronic?â I said sure, Iâll set everything up for you, including wire in your room. Tell you all the supplies to get. Iâll even write a little note telling how much to dose and when to dose it. So I got him all set up including the clones, so I knew exactly what he had to do because it was like a fucking formula to me. I said I would ensure that in the first round, he would grow enough weed that it would pay for the setup and then some.
Sounds like a fucking sweet deal eh? Every week this guy shows up and checks on your progress, tells you if things are going south. First crop was so huge, it was a fucking jungle in there. People would come to his house and be like âwhaaaaaaaaaa??!!!â Iâd laugh. I think he got like kilos. it was mental.
Next thing you know, this guy shows up. âThe guyâ is like oh you have to do this and that and the other thing, itâll improve productivity. Next itâs âoh look the hydro store owner gave me this to add inâ. Before you know it, the plants arenât absorbing any nutrients because he fucking shell shocked them with nitric acid and âsomeâ thing he got from the store. ph is rocking up and down. Plants died. He started growing in dirt got 25% productivity. I was sarcastically âwhat the fuck is the ph on those plants?â Then he wanted to grow in water culture again. Got hydrotron and shit. I was like wtf the guy at the store sold you on that? Net pots the whole stupid thing. Yet he would never give up the âsomethingâ he got from the hydro store guy even after his ph started bouncing around like a fucking maniac again.
If I told him to do this or that he would do the exact opposite now. Went back to dirt then gave up growing entirely.
Just as I was getting into organics I hop on over to your thread here @Liljonb read that post by @JoeCrowe and hydro pulls me back in. Gosh kilos. I gotta go find some journals to study. I know how to follow instructions and Iâm a glutton for punishment.
The secret is really controlling the environment. Back when I started growing I was operating off the EXACT same instructions they give you nowadays. Putting things like hydrogen peroxide in there. People now are using bleach. Yikes! Enzymes? eh what? beneficial microbes??? 18 celcius, NPK, ph reasonable. Plant will tell you whatâs what after that.
This one time I opened up buddyâs reservoir and this chemical wave like hit my face. Almost like eyelash curling kind of stink. I said âyo man, I donât think itâs supposed to be like thatâ. When I look into my plants water itâs like I could drink that, except I know itâs EC 3.0 with nasty shit ahhh sorry had to rant for a bit.
Keeping things simple also helps.
Ya unemployment is screwing me too. Told me Iâm not who I said I am.
I fed the Hopscotch heavy, just looked through your thread they look great.
Youâve intrigued me into looking into hydro. How old is the Hopscotch right now?
You wonât regret dwc! So amazing
@JoeCrowe you are welcome to post anything you would like here anytime. I could learn allot. I really think it was the ph kept dropping after I checked it. And didnât check it again untill the next day. Plus its an auto. Never ran one before. They can be a little finicky. The Hopscotch is going strong. I will be stopping buy today see what youâve been working on. Its been awhile. Still got the Big Buds going Iâm sure.
Thatâs funny about your friend. Some people canât leave well enough alone. You gave him the cuts so you would know how they grow. I know when I got started I thought I needed a bunch of stuff. @Shaggy450r is right about keeping it simple.
The oldest is 23 days which make the other 20 days. I pulled some fan leaves off of the small one yesterday. The fingers on the leaf was at least 2.5" wide.
Hydro is great. If you cant get into your garden frequently you might want to stay away from dro. Once I feel like every thing is stable I might leave for a few days.
I wouldnât grow any other way. I use General Hydroponics flora trio. Half the recommended dose will give you the right PPMs. If you use whatâs on the bottle they seem too high to me. It would be close to 3000. Thats to much in my eyes. I also use the cal-mag of cor
Thats crazy about unemployment for you. Did you ask them how you can prove it for them?
Ya I went on vacation to Texas for a week right after I flipped in dirt. Thatâs kinda nice to be able to do. Iâm still waiting on unemployment to call back. I still call in just havenât recieved a check yet, 7 weeks now. Keep on trucking with it, Iâm impressed.
Running some hopscotch next
Curious as to why? Do you feel this produces the best quality? Or the most weight? Or do you enjoy the process. Just wanted to pick your brain a little
I do like the process. I feel like I have more control. Soil it seems that when I have problems it takes longer to see that what what Iâm doing to fix the problem is right or wrong. In hydro I can see improvements within a day. If things get bad in hydro I can do a change out. The amount of growth over all is faster in hydro. I get more weight as well. I dont have to wait for the out door growing season to get good soil. I bought soil once on line and the shipping was damn near half of the price of the soil.
Now donât get me wrong. I have a great amount of respect for the people that run organics. Organics is definitely a science and something I would like to start looking in to and reading up on. I do run soil durring the outdoor season. Iâm going to give Pro Mix a try instead if Fox Farm this season. But as far as indoor gose hydro is my go to. Iâm not the best at it but Iâm getting better every grow. This is only my 4th run doing hydro so considering I feel Iâm doing pretty good for myself. I learned everything I know in the topic from folks on here. I want to get a nice PH EC meter. I know alot of my issues are from the inaccuracies of my $60 pen.
I also hate cleaning soil out of my nails for days. Lol.
