In Manhattan? It’ll be hard.

I’ve been twice and once I stayed outside the city and took the commuter train. It was reasonably affordable but I don’t recall which hotel it was.

I’ve also stayed at the Ace hotel which was cool and like $200 a night or so.

Enjoy your trip.

Best bet is to stay in Jersey City or Hoboken. It’s cheaper and has stops on the main NYC subway line.

Source: I live upstate and wouldn’t stay or drive in NYC if they paid me

I usually start my search with booking.Com

Lots of reviews, pricing is easily available. Use filters to narrow down choices.

I understand prices are high being a city , just can’t afford the top end , but it’s a special occasion so have to really stay central ish for the experience

@resimax ill look into them two
: )
Out of them which would you choose to look at first ?

Either one. They’re both right next to each other on the subway line, like a couple minutes apart. Staying in Jersey isn’t just cheaper…it’s a lot less hassle. The price of the subway is the same and there’s less waiting and trying to squeeze into the train. It’s only a few minutes ride to any of the stops… that main line goes pretty quickly.

I once stayed in a Youth Hostel in Long Island City, was actually a Penthouse rooms full of bunks, looking back over the river at the empire state building, Best view is from the roof, best $30 bucks a night going… free street parking and a few stops away from pretty much anywhere…

Just make sure to check all prices for tax and resort fee additions. Not sure of your budget and locations you want to visit.

Just walk-in about looking at usual buildings , eating unhealthy food and smoke some weed , not into arts or theatre etc just happy to be there and soak it all in ( wife has always wanted to go )
I’m also not worried if I don’t get to smoke ? Only gonna be there a few days and will be kept busy lol hopefully meetin a friend there too

The only thing my wife has mentioned is seeing the Empire State Building and Time Square

Me , I just want to see New York , eat a hotdog and buy a cap lol

Honestly I would only do a day in the those areas. Theatres are there and lots of people!! I always preferred downtown more especially for food.
The lower east side, Chinatown canal street, little Italy west village will all have good food and shops. The crowd will also be smaller.

It’s changed so much in the last 5-10 years that I hardly recognize certain areas I was in.
The crowds in Times Square have remained pretty consistent though.
You curious about anything in particular?

I know absolutely nothing about New York , my wife just really wants to go , always dreamin about it
Normally we do Amsterdam or other European cities

We gereally just walk lots , absorb the lifestyle , eat where locals eat , wife does abit of shopping and take photos

Haha that’s really it

Would like a smoke too if possible in cafe / club but I don’t have too but would be nice

I supose it’s her trip so probably romance I’ll have to try and squeeze in somewhere maybe a nice restaurant or something , somewhere you sit to eat and use a knife and fork lol

Was going to just wing it when I get there but any pointers would be great

Be ready for Times Square, it’s where all the street hustlers will offer up deals on all things cannabis and beyond. Brought my kids with me and the wife recently since I’m only a few hours away and while we’re strolling thru and at least 15 people in different areas were yelling about the products they have. Literally offered my 11 yr old son stuff all you hear is “Edibles,Edibles,Edibles :joy: we all looked at each other and laughed afterwards. Hustlers have no chill in NYC
:100: I grew up an hour from the Bronx I knew what I signed up for :upside_down_face: Love the city :cityscape:
Hope you have the time of your life @anon33830044
