Here is a Malawi from seed from Ace.
I didn’t notice any indica traits.
Looks good Tuned!
Save some seeds, make F2 and perhaps F3, that is where you will see the wld traits most likely if you are going to. Meosis is fun that way. A friend grew some Malawi from ACE and he reports wider leaves and quicker flower in subsequent generation crops. I have never grown a malawi ACE or otherwise.
I have grown ACE panama and CBG panama, in my humble opinion, those are crossed with something wld. 9-11 week flowering. Does not make the plant bad medicine, not at all. Just definitely not pure sativa. Only matters if you are seeking or expecting unadulterated sativa.
In contrast, the BCO panama is a 16-18 week flowering plant. Fwiw, I don’t think even the BCO is pure. But is suspect it is closer than the ACE or CBG versions. I doubt if we will ever know for sure.
I will say, as far as I can know, ACE Old Timers Haze is pure sativa, nld and 18-20 weeks in my hands. ACE panama haze is a 16 week plant, and a beauty.
I have plenty of ACE panama regular and some feminized S2 I made from Cannabiogen panama. I prefer the CBG, it is a little more sativa leaning perhaps. If you want pure landrace I don’t think either one is pure but they are lovely plants. Send me your details via PM and I will try to get some out to you soon.
If you want some pure landrace seeds, I just finished a Woodstock/Bodhi/MMS Acapulco Gold run. 19.5 weeks flower at 11/13. Could have gone a few weeks longer but even I have limits ![]()
Awesomr brother…Thanks!
Ive grown a bunch of ace gear, golden tiger, super malawi haze, killer a5, golden tiger x a5haze and a few others i cant remember… dont remember seeing indica traits in them…
The gt x a5haze went 15+ weeks…
I got some killer a5 and (gt x a5hz) crossed with some karma gear if u are interested ![]()
I pop’d their Panama Red last year that was 10 years old. 100% germ but they were 4 foot tall columns, super squatty, wide over lapping leaves and downer sad buzz.
I didn’t know about ACE until this, I even carefully bred the overall best and made 300 seeds.
The plants were consistent, almost identical but wow what a shitty buzz. Tossed in the compost.
Do you want the seeds?
Did my package land?
I want to try your Killer or
GT x a5haze,
Because You know what you’re doing.
yesir, thanks a lot, tried to look for the message to let you know, but didnt manage it
thanks a lot bro! hmu in the DM with the addy! ![]()
Thanks for the offer Bro but I am pretty full. My challenge at the moment is more what to grow in which order while not accidentally losing genetics when I find a winner and maintaining everything.
Vis-a-vis the buzz and ACE in general:
After everyone on ICmag was singing their praise during my last time researching breeders and buying seeds back in 2016 or when it was, I eventually pulled the trigger on that breeder’s kit, which they no longer offer now for years.
It was actually between the Panama, Golden Tiger and the Malawi for me.
I have since learned that many/most/all the “pure landrace Sativas” from ace are actually not that but have Indica crossed in (I believe it was PCK in case of Malawi). Which is kinda fine by me to be honest, if it is still leaning Sativa or close to pure landrace or whatever since I have to grow indoor anyway. But I sure would’ve appreciated them being upfront about that and not hiding it.
Not a good sign …
I also have already grown about 5 of those Malawis but I had issues in those rounds and attributed the terrible harvest and end product to my own environmental issues back then (the Mr Nice Mango Haze were no better in that round).
Since then I have heard a bunch of negative reports, very akin to yours.
Basically schwag not worth growing. Which most of the available seeds on the market are, once you hit a certain level at least once and provided you have the “palette” to even be able to appreciate the fine subtleties of truly high end final product.
The Malawi breeders kit contained 48 seeds. 12 each of 4 different parents. New Killer, Old Killer, Purple and I believe “Fruity” Malawi.
I think I popped like 2 of the new killer and fruity malawi each or sth back then.
Either way. The jury is still out for me but I have been warned by several reputable growers since then and will likely not give the breeders kit as big of a chance as I originally planned.
I can flower about 9 plants a round and therefore plan to germinate a max of 18 seeds per round. What I am imagining is ending up popping sth like 12 seeds, 4 New, 4 Old and 4 Fruity or sth like that and then fill out whatever remains in flower spots with clones from previous rounds or one of my Mr Nice Sativa/Haze strains as I am fully prepared to be disappointed with what I harvest from the Malawis.
But I do wanna give them a real fighting chance myself after the more or less failed first attempt, before I make my mind up.
Although I gotta say I also popped a couple Zamaldelica and PCK already. Same as the Malawis, also in rounds I had major environmental issues in back then though. Therefore the results weren’t better.
The signs are indeed bad and this will be the final chance for ACE to redeem themselves in my eyes.
Otherwise they join the list of breeders I wouldn’t grow from again, even if I got paid to do it and I will happily let others know.
Mr Nice with their auctions was another Breeder that convinced me of their offerings back then and I bought into them heavily.
While quality indeed varies, I have NEVER regretted growing their stuff and in the past, their seeds have functioned as a baseline and measuring stick for the offerings of other breeders to me.
It might not always have been the bomb but it was ALWAYS and consistently high quality and good stuff throughout the bank.
And once in a while you do find the bomb if you grow enough.
Now I know there are others that have louder and/or more oomph stuff on average, particularly with some of the younger strains.
But I am convinced, so far (just beginning to grow post Chemdawg genetics myself so this might change but I doubt it), that if you grow enough of their best (like SSH, Neville’s Haze, NL5xHaze, their Widow genetics etc.) and do it well enough, you can find stuff that can hang with the best of the Canna world (what would that be at the moment? Your GMOs and Sherberts and Diesels, Gelatos, Glues, Cookies and what have you, it’s all Chemdawg genetics to me
) .
So to me, Mr Nice is an S-Tier Breeder (while I can see how others might rank it A but would fight anyone claiming B Tier or lower).
And by the little personal experience I have had with Ace but also from what I have gathered from reputable sources I not only believe to have grown it but also done it well, it is already hard to imagine ACE in S-Tier as it stands.
The Malawi round next year ™ would have to really surprise me for that.
But to me, A-Tier (as in “just gotta grow it well/right and grow enough of it to find a keeper”) would suffice and is still solid. Again, at this point that would surprise me.
They are dangerously close to ending up in the wooden 4 ELO, can’t pay me to grow it, Shit Tier.
Last Chance with that Malawi Breeder’s Kit. After that, I am gifting the rest of their seeds away as well…
Maybe (probably) other people just have vastly different body chemistry and to them that stuff is the bomb.
But once a Breeder doesn’t convince me of being S or A Tier after a chance or two (a chance consisting of flowering at least 2 females from seed or 1 clone, to evaluate the final product), I see no reason to grow that stuff over the S and A Tier breeders I know exist. Might always stumble upon a winner pheno in one of them seeds there and at worst have solid stuff…
People say some have hybrid influence in them because most if not all his sativas have much faster flowering times then those strains are known for.
He is not good about answering questions about this and that does not help.
One example is bangi haze , he made posts in the past stating it was a hybrid and had super silver haze in it and some indica influence , now its sold as a cross between two sativas and most think it is , even though it finishes in less then ten weeks and often smells , tastes and smokes just like super lemon haze…
I’ve asked him directly in threads he was active in days prior to explain its origins and his prior posts that contradict his current ones and he goes silent.
There are some nice plants in aces gear but I would have to agree they are not for the pure collector, the only one I can verify is legit is the PCK and I think it was used to shorten the flower times on just about everything else.
I’ve personally grown the Ace Seeds Golden Tiger and it’s a righteous sativa strain for me anyway. I remember reading it is a mix of sativas. Their Malawi and Killer A5 Haze are both hybrids but both exhibit very nice sativa traits.
Purple Haze x Meao Thai in a 5g fabric pot.
Might as well be a Nepalese Hashplant with all that strong indica influence ![]()
Too funny. Nice looking plant Low.
Yes, and they are on their third version of Golden Tiger now.
I’d love to know why… ![]()
Cheers

Well as long as each subsequent version gets better …
I was thinking about grabbing Golden Tiger. What do you guys think? Anybody else had her?
There has been three versions created so far. I have not seen an explanation as to ‘why’ but I’m sure we can all make ‘educated guesses’ …
Check out your sources, there are a number of shady types still selling ‘Golden Tiger’ you do not want to buy from. Ace has a ‘designated seller’ list on their site.
{full disclosure: I’m holding a couple of packs of what is most likely v2…}
Cheers

Folks asked for a more Thai leaning version… V3.
"First Golden Tiger version was only available in regular format, and it was a F1 hybrid: Old Malawi Killer pollinated by Meao/Hmong male from Cannabiogen.
Second (and most successful and widespread) Golden Tiger version is a polyhybrid that contains Koh Chang Thai, Meao/Hmong Thai, Old Malawi Killer and New Malawi Killer parental plants.
This third Golden Tiger version is also a F1 and uses a new third Thai, and it’s Thai Chiang Mai x Malawi 3rd generation male for the regular version, and Thai Chiang Mai x Old Malawi Killer (reversed) for the feminized version."
How about his malawi? That looks fantastic.
