Bangi Haze is one of my favorites and it doesn’t finish in 9 weeks. More like 11-14, about the same as a Nevilles Haze. The profile are complex and have nothing to do with super lemon haze. The terps range goes from Incense/woody → Spicy → Acetone/Glue/Chemicals from my experience.
I would say that from my experience Ace push down their flowering time by atleast a week or two. I think that’s because the flowering time they have is outdoor. Which often isn’t “from flip”, but rather when a female first show signs of being in flowering. It serves them good by saying that stuff takes shorter amount of time that it actually does indoors. And I would agree with you, that isn’t what one would want.
When it comes to the make up of the plants. Their lineage is what the initial Ace member said what it was. Which in my book is what it is. I mean nobody really knows except the breeder and if that person really have no clue either, nobody have a clue.
I’m just trying to show you my perspective and it’s OK to not like every breeder out there. Maybe you’ll give em a chance some day
Maybe some of the spicy phenos can lean a little towards citrus, but I would describe it more towards bergamot. I have no clue, I have probably grown 30+ different plants of Bangi haze over the years and I have never had one finish with 10% amber in 9 weeks.
Well said, I bought ACE because of being a sativa lover, I didn’t care about the purity of this and that at that point. For me they were worked glimpses at landrace I’d never run otherwise.
I have some Ace strains. Just ask Ace Seeds and they’ll tell you everything you need to know. They’re transparent. I can say I grew Golden Tiger, and it’s a completely old-school Sativa, finished flowering in late November outdoors. Landraces can also be classified as P2, P3, P4, and so on. (Open pollination)
The genetics are awesome even if DUBIOUS (PUN INTENDED) marketing is used by him/them, but you cant do what he did to Pandora. It is ethically and morally wrong and he is going to pay for it. The OTH he sells, as oppposed to “his OTH”, wont ever sell. I have already grown and compared their OTH x Panama Goddes vs Pandora’s OTH x Cannabiogen Panama and OTH x Cryptic Labs Panama and there isnt any similarities. He did wrong by Pandora and the Community. No buts.
Where I am from, this is NOT what the Cannabis community is or should be about. This is essentially contrary to the Spirit of Overgrow as well.
I did grow Golden Tiger 3rd version. I have documented that grow. Flowered for 18 weeks. Great strain with legit landrace genetics. Still a douche bag of a guy.
To all those that say I hate ACE, this is patently false. I just don’t appreciate the fake pure sat landrace advertisements. If you’re selling soda with corn syrup, let me know it’s corn syrup and don’t tell me it’s raw cane sugar, na mean?
For some reason the sock puppets conflate criticism with hate. I am keen to try many of ACEs offering, including the Bangi, Honduran and Beldia.
Criticism doesn’t preclude me from curiosity. It’s not a blind hate, just feels like it’s worthwhile calling out the inconsistencies because some of us don’t have that many seasons left to grow.
Let’s say that the producer is getting a sugar labeled cane sugar, but it might or might not be that. I think that’s the situation.
If you listen to what the original crew says. They say that they only used pure landrace genetics with heavy selections. If that’s the case, or if it’s rogue pollen or just blatant lie, we don’t know… But for what it is these old cultivars are definitely a NLD type and does have very nice “sativa” effects. Compared to “modern sativas” these are way closer to a jungle landrace NLD then a indica.
So what have you ran of theres again? Thats right nothing so your opinion doesnt count buddy. Lol you cant judge something on what youve read on forums…cmon man! Its not fair or logical no matter how you spin it. You havent grown or smoked anything of theirs. Geez let it go move on to Colorado sativas or whoever it is you praise
You do hate Ace stop lying otherwise you wouldnt pop in on evey single thread with their name.
They’re not the only person to say it. Multiple people here have and noticed them to seem less pure than seeds from other sources. I do recall someone on here stating that Bodhi won’t use Ace genetics due to purity. Are they crossing them with pck which is believed or is it due to open pollination before being collected? That’s another story.I personally haven’t grown strain x from ace and another source and compare but other members have can chime in.
Personally I have grown their
Honduras
Ethiopian
Nepal Annapurna
Lebanese
Violeta
China yunnan
Orient express
Zamaldelica x kali China
I spent the last few years pretty much focused on ace gear.
The first group of these that are listed are supposed to be pure.
That being said these are the only sativa landraces I have ran ever so far.
All of them have purple like phenos. I know there is purple in most all landraces here and there. But the one thing that I’ve been thinking about with these is that. Besides the lone Lebanese male out of the pack that wouldn’t stop preflowering and opening sacks, none of the other ones have gotten root bound and started to flower/preflower.
I haven’t though much of it until having my petrolia headstashes that they done like being root bound and are preflowering all over.
Not saying that it points to them being hybridized for sure or anything. But it makes you wonder how these are so accepting of living in a beer cup for 2 years, under leds and being happy about it.
Edit: also if people experienced similar thing with other non ace landraces let me know. I like info.
It’s a difference between pure sativa, close to source landrace sativa, refined landraces and selected sativas.
I know that ACE do like to play a lot with the wording and such.
But ACE is and always will be VERY VERY selected work that are far from the source. Landrace in cannabis usually doesn’t have the same meaning then rest of ag. I do think that they are so selected that if they are not directly crossing stuff to PCK. Which still haven’t been proven, it’s just a theory…
They are so selected to be a modern sativa crop, that majority of the “wilderness” of them are gone.
If you run TRSC or Holy smoke, close to source sativas you will find extreme jungle plants that doesn’t produce the best plant, herm like a lot and flower forever, the highs are usually quite week and you have to grow a few to find keepers. I usually ran between 20 to 50 females of these for my hunts. If you are into these types of plants for what ever reason. I don’t think the hard selected breeding projects by ACE ia for you. But if you are into NLDs with very up, heart pounding and sometimes trippy highs. You will find that in some of ACE cultivars… They have the full range, from 100% BLD to 100% BLD.
As I understand Bodhi haven’t used Ace because they can’t 110% name the sources for most of their gear. Bodhi have hardly used any of Angus gear either, does that mean TRSC isnt close to source landrace seeds?
Just buy a 3pcs of fems from them and pop them in the corner and test it out. It doesn’t have to be a full commitment… I have seen more people change their mind about Ace when they have actually grown something from them. Majority of their shit is solid plants with great effects.
@upstate can chime in on the Malawi line and it’s hybridization
I actually popped a few of these Bangi at the beginning of the season but it didn’t work out. I do intend to grow them going forward, would love more transparency
Lebanese are usually considered a hemp hybrid with autoflowering tendencies
I’ve hardly found any purple phenos in their sativas.
I’ve run multiple selfing endeavors with sativas from Ace and I’ve never seen any PCK pop up, only a lot of sativas…
I don’t think I ever will be able to change your mind since I’ve already been through this once before in a previous post.
Why is all freaking sativa threads become THIS way… It bring the worst out of people who have never grow the gear…
It’s like people who says THH is the best sativa around and have never grown it. Or that it’s hay and have never grown it. Just stop!
Is ace perfect? No!
Are their gear overall good? Yes!
Do they offer close to source landraces? No!
Do they claim they do? Kinda, they are definitely playing with words.
Are all their gear 1 to 1 selections? YES, IT’S HEAVY SELECTION!
Are their pure sativa, pure sativa? What is sativa… It’s not how the plant works… So are their “pure sativa” very NLD? Yes! It is!
If you are looking for a good NLD, should you try Ace? Hell yeah!
If you’re looking for something old or close to source landrace, should you try Ace? Hell no! There is way better offers out there for you…
I’m tiered of this and too high… I wanna feel the love and positivity.
Would you be able to recommend a good NLD from Ace, preferably no longer than 14 weeks? I’d love to try their gear, but I always get confused on what’s good anytime I try to research it. All the threads always go back to how pure their strains are instead of how good they are
