Low watt growing

Welcome to my grow it’s about low watt growing and how you can still grow nice plants without the expensive lights if you can’t afford them and yes I know the more light you have the better but sometimes people can’t afford it so here we go I’m currently running 6 plants in a 2 by 3 foot space in my closet and I’m only running 6 16 watt led bulbs at the moment and they are 4 days into flowering only have one pic at the moment cus they are sleeping I know for sure 4 out of the 6 are females fingers crossed that the other 2 are as well

Awesome!

Great to see your grow.

Will this be all the light they ever get or is there a brighter future for them?

I’m gonna get two 7 in 1 light spliters when I can afford to but as of right now that’s it :pensive: but they are happy so I’m happy to as long as they are

Looking good, what medium are you growing the in and pot size etc?

They do indeed look happy.

You have probably already surmised that the lowest branches will probably steal energy from the upper branches.

How do you feel about an aggressive lower plant prune to shift the energies upward toward the light where they may be better utilized by the plant?

They are being grown in dr earth the orange bag and I’m using mega crop with micro and black strap

Letting the lowers die off is one approach for sure.

The plant re-utilize the energies as they wither, it is said.

Looking forward to your progress.

Do you think it would be better to just lollipop them or let them fall off by there self

Some are convinced letting them die all the way is correct. I have never done this. I always train vigorous energy upward in compromised situations. Indoor is compromise all the way. Just the same, I see great results (from others) from letting them wither and removing to prevent mold.

My first thought was for maximizing harvest, so, I would prune. But, your approach is different, so it is best to ask someone with at least a little experience,

Thanks for the info and I guess I follow the litfa movement lol but am willing to explore

Wow, impressive. 96 watts over a 2x3 space for 16 w/ft^2. Nice looking growth at that level.

Thanks a lot I’ve grown before but with CFLs but tbh it’s kinda the same led bulbs are the new cfl and if you have ur stuff together and not be afraid to try something when people say it can’t be done then you can surprise people

@Kingaizen69 dude your my hero for the week. . . I live off grid and was going to do a natural/led light setup in my green house I’m building but those 6 plants grown with 96 watts just might change my mind and try an all indoor grow this winter to compare to my greenhouse. . . What are the exact led bulbs your running

And I had hid after but that shit was so hot tbh and I swear people are going to laugh at me but my first grow with cfl and it did better then the hid but there were factors in that being the case I had the hid at one set height and couldn’t move it higher and it was on 6 plants and the CFLs were on one plant and it had 4 42 watts and 4 16 around the sides
