Hey was just wondering has anyone grown the old school M-39? My father inlaw talks highly about it. He did it hydroponic in the old school tier system. Was wondering if its as good as the storys ive heard.
I hate it. If you like black pepper type spicy hard little nugs⦠i guess. Nothing special. Flooded the market for years. Also known as beasters quebec gold and a couple other crappy names. I was so happy when āpurple kushā took over . What a relief that was.
From research only, I believe the ābeastersā M-39 was the mass produced, chopped too early commercial that flooded the market and was not good.
M-39 grown properly and taken at the right time can be killer apparently. I intend to prove that at some point as I purchased from Woodhorse 10 M-39 seeds, 5 are from a NL leaning pheno and 5 from a skunk leaning pheno.
Iām convinced that itās simply a case of mass producing weed for money ruins the rep.
Just my 2 cents.
We had the M-39 clone, back when I worked at compassionate caregivers, in the early 2kās-- it was considered a midsy high yielding commercial strain. The clones flew off the shelf, because it kicked down huge yields, but the club didnāt often buy the product because it didnt sell well.
It was only one of the Beasters strains⦠beasters were any mass-produced commercially-grown buds coming in from BC.
Was getting M39 back in early 2000s in the form of Beasters and you either hated the shit or loved it For the price and no seeds. It was all Tumbled bud back then so all the sugar was kicked off when they bucked the buds.got my hands on a clone of it in my early 20s from a Korean friend of mine that lived in the Falls. He had family that were involved in some sort of Korean organized crime that were flooding the market with the stuff.Plant grew 4 foot max was a bit dumpy squat but threw out some Thick buds but the high was mediocre. We tried to go more amber for the finish to see if it was any better but it was still pretty Meh.I got my hands on some of Simons Early 98 white Russian from Serious Seeds in the Kind Seed catalog from Marc and it was a wrap.Thats stuff made the M39 look like You were smoking oregano
Ive seen many versions and grows of that shit from 96 to 2005 ish. Never found anything worth writing home about. This was all indoor and we had freisland and sometimes northern light for outdoor. Year⦠after ⦠year. Ive seen a pheno called 00 or double zero which started to get interesting and was the best version ive seen but was still 39. and was considered to be close to the chronic( or crossed to ) whatever the hell that was. Peppers and pickles are two things i donāt wanna taste in bud
