Theres alot of fake mac1 out there…if anyone is claiming to have real seeds are most likely scammers…i talk to cap himself n he said he has never put out any seeds…he gave away cuts to people who where legit growers and people that wernt trying to cash in…in other words. Its top of the line smoke but the yield not so much…

I think the cut is great but it has serious problems as a cultivar. IMO, the original cross needs remade from scratch to fix the issues, and I’d toss the current one. As-is MAC1 grows slow af, doesn’t make many seeds, and what seeds it does create have a high chance for mutation or other issues. I get the smoke is great, MAC does wonders for my back pain and is my go-to medication for that at the moment. But just those 3 are enough to me to say that it was a bad cross and they should’ve gone back and picked better parents to fix the issues. But since we can’t do that, would have to start over from scratch.

What i like and what u like might be two diff things but i get ur point…but before i got mac1 clone i went through lots of fakes…i bought the macv2 so hopefully he fixed the issues with mutants n shit…so i can get whole bunch of seeds for myself…hes a stand up guy tho.im sure if u got bad seeds or something u can msg him direct on his forum and he will take care of it

Yeah if I were to do it, just need to find a good columbian. That’s really the only guessing game in the strain history. There’s plenty of starfighter around, The Cube or IBL is likely what I would go for. And then either straight alien cookies again, #5 F3? or use something better, plenty of cookies around.

Given that Cap has been growing for 30 years, I think he would have gone back and fixed the issue if it were that simple. I’ve tried various Mac’s and nothing quite hits as well as Caps cut grown by himself at Peace of Green. Those subtle differences make it special. I will admit, it is frustratingly slow. I don’t mind it too much though. It is what it is. Change your expectations.

Polyhybrids tend to have larger gene pools so they’re less likely to grow mutations. It’s the inbreeding that brings mutations to the surface

Well afaik, Cap didn’t make MAC, some other kid did. Cap has just kept the cut and worked with it (likely) longer than anyone else.
The big issue is, again, what “Columbian” was used in the original mom? Without that, the chance of acquiring something similar to the current MAC will be difficult. Need a better male to hit the alien cookies with and fix the slow veg, poor seed, and mutation issues.

A pair of brand new, butt-ugly Jordan’s, would be a better analogy. Hype and resale value is thru the roof. They don’t have to be more comfortable than normal shoes, or look better. They just have to be Jordan’s.

It’s an artificial economy is all I’m saying. All seeds are really, but artificially limiting the supply is the only reason they are expensive.
