The peculiar case of the Maidens pearls,…A rather strange morphology commonly referred to as ‘pearl’ or ‘wheat’ phenos,…growing tall and thin with tight pearl like beads that hang loosely from the main stem …we see this morphology across several sativa seedlines but usually only showing up haphazardly which can make them rather hard to find…the maidens pearls sprung from 20 year old seeds of cannabiogens destroyer dating from 2005, they are accentuated by extreme resin production,so much so that as plants mature, the resin forms a crust that gives the flowers an almost pearlescent shimmer when catching the light,…altho Maidens pearls grow tall and thin with large inter-node spacing, those tight swollen pearl like calyxs can get rather weighty meaning in the right hands ,this oddball sativa can be weridly, or rather wonderfully… productive …3 slightly different pearl pheno expressions have been used in the making of this seedline, all of which are the original seedlings from the 2005 seeds,…another thing that punctuates Maidens Pearls is extreme potency, a very intense cerebral high, not really trippy or anxiety inducing, nor a nuanced slow acting type of high that leaves you saying ‘‘am i high yet’’…Maidens pearls hit you hard and fast shifting your dimension and heightening your senses, i would describe it as a very trance like experience with altered consciousness
The pollen donor for Maidens Pearls is the 1 and only male found in the original 2005 destroyer seeds (Richard the Destroyer) this brother/sisters pairing produces consistent pearl phenotypes in the offspring,…over the coming months in this thread i will be documenting what you can expect to find when growing out these freebies for yourself, so come join me as we explore…what the Maidens Pearls have instore
i grew out some 20 year old destroyer about 4 years ago … got 10 females 1 male …done a repo for the community of those 10 females 1 male and give them out as freebies… these seeds are from 3 of those ten females , all 3 are pearl phenos, the other 7 phenos are normal growth…and these 3 pearl phenos produce the least amount of seed as you can imagine compared to plants of normal morphology so are the rarest …so this thread is all about the pearls … growing out seeds produced by the 3 pearl phenos …
well yeahh,…i was extememly impressed with what came from those 20 year old seeds made back in 2005…and the seed company that produced them had shut down,… the natural response i suppose would be to hoard them, gollum style (my precious) but i felt i had a resonsability to get them out there… so everyone could enjoy them the way I have …and do …felt like good karma
Grew some Chimera 3 s1s where a few of them had this morphology. Slow growing, fairly small plants with super super low yield. Really really frosty though.
Time came to try it, loaded up a bonger for my buddy. He hits it, then half through the exhale he says “This is the strongest flower i have ever smoked”. He has been smoking weed for decades, and is a real Head.
“Riiiiight…” I thought. Then I hit it. Was like a dab, could not believe how strong it was. Unfortunately i had killed off the mom due to the growth and yield. Wish I had kept that one around.
Its awesome you have this girl!
Wow that sounds like a beautiful pheno …does seem to be a trend with this kind of morphology …small yield but insane resin production…and I imagine so many just get discarded. The 3 pearl phenos I have are the strongest of the 10 females …I’m not ashamed to admit their a little too strong for me lol,…1 of the 3 is a pretty good yielder for a pearl phenotype…that’s the one pictured all tied up …she sure packs on the weight
See I’m only 29, so most of my experience with weed has been since bag appeal had played the biggest role in what people want, so I have never gotten to experience buds like this. Well now that I’ve been growing I want to start messing with more true sativas and finding some weird gems like this! I’ll definitely be along for the ride picking up what tips I can
@gedLang …they work well for the hash pile, the resin-drenched stems these phenos may not yield a lot of bud weight …but they sure yield well for hash making
@Gpaw …glad to have you along for the ride brother
@thatdankbassist …well yeah it’s just the natural business motivated direction the scene has taken since legalisation…plants have to tick allot of boxes,… with yield, bag appeal/scent, THC percentages at the top, and quality of high usually being far down the list of requirements…as far as I am concerned …quality of high is the only requirement …how a plant makes me feel dictates my selection
@soopy… thanks a lot bro …and yeahh Iv seen Randy’s work I remember reading how sick he was he didn’t keep the phenos he found … and nooo the 10 original 2005 females and the 2005 male are all alive and well,… I have even dished them out to grow buddies also, in case I lose my clones … and hey, these freebies are available right now
just put …‘‘Maidens pearls’’… into Google and do a little digging to find out how to acquire them
great to have you aboard @GanjaRasta4life ,… this thread will soon be seeing much more activity …things have got a little delayed but bear with me guys
