@Farmers_Hat will two cola tops each be enough to make us enough seed on these four or should I be topping. If I can pick two males, maybe three I feel like I can place one in each corner and spread it out a little.
Just my opinion but I would personally top one more time. Not really for seed purposes though idk shit about that ![]()
If you want more seeds, the best thing to do is remove the males and dont let them pollinate the ladies too early.
If I was working this project, I would remove the males around week 2 of flower. Place them in quarantine in another space with simple veg lights. Let the ladies enter week 4-6 of flower before bringing the males back in, or dumping pollen in the tent.
In other words, slow down the growth of the males, so the females have time to stack more bracts and pistils.
So the only issue I’ll have is they will indeed not be inside a tent. They will be just chilling in a basement. I could move them to the 5x5 but that would put them into a 18/6 light and I don’t exactly want that lol.
They got water with calmag today. How horrible would it be to put the males just next to the tent with a light. Not in a tent just in my basement.
it’s hard to stay on top of stray pollen, best collect, dry, then use
Well, another option is to heavily prune the males, that will definitely stunt them and set them back a week or so. Theoretically you can prune the males several times, until the females have developed chunky flowers.
Does that mean just cut the balls off of it? Or am I chopping the whole plant back?
You will probably have to cut them back, like @Cr0Barron demonstrated on post #134
@Farmers_Hat , the male triming ,stunt ,is a handy thing to know about, thanks!
Alright, make them look like they are baby seedlings again.
@Ibegeekdup Cool setup! Looks like there’s room for everyone! Everyone looks healthy and happy ![]()

Well this is what they look like now. Getting NUTRIENTS and water. @Farmers_Hat is that what I was supposed to do. Fingers crossed cause it is done. I took them down to where they have 4 bud sites left.
Looks good. You can prune them again later, if the females need more time to flower.
Okie dokie. I wonder if they feel like the Eunices did back in the early 1700 dynasties.
