Malawi x SSH seed run

I know nothing about either plants. They are from @Farmers_Hat. I’ll figure out which post of his has the information and pop it in the first post for you. I’m tossing around two ideas. Everyone in a 1g pot, ill run the lights 12/12 from start to keep them on the smaller side, and to attempt to keep all 12 in the tent for this. I feel like multiple males will make this the best attempt possible. That would be 12 seeds. I’m doing this in my 2.5x2.5. The game plan is to help @Farmers_Hat with seeds to give back to the community here. I’ll post a couple photos of the tent they will be in. It housed my godfather og male.

Haha I’ve never intentionally grew a sativa until now lol. So I’m going to have a whole new experience.

I’ve only recently gotten into growing them. I’m hunting a pack of ole 97 from high and lonesome which is a ssh f5 that was originally from a pack bought from greenhouse in 1997. They look and grow so much differently than what I was accustomed to. It’s been fun.

I’m finding some really nice plants. One in particular is strikingly similar in look and smell to the 98 cannabis cup winning cut. Very high hopes for these. Popped the whole pack which was over 40 plants and out of 25 females I have 6 that look like they may be “the one “

So I just checked the seedling in the paper towel. After 48 hours there is no taproots busting out. Will check back in 24 hours to see if there is any progress.

Thats fascinating. The mother Malawi plant threw two male flowers indoors, probably from all the stress I put it through. I was not kind to that plant. A clone of the same plant grown outdoors did just fine. Actually, I still have a cut of that Malawi mother. Im planning to create some BX1 with the F1 progeny. I want to select a good male that flowers a little quicker. The long term goal is to reduce the overall flowering time of the Malawi. Its a serious breeding project that I will be working on for the next 5 years. I dont anticipate taking longer than that.

Malawi mother  ( I like having a clone of this plant in my living room, mostly as an ornamental. )

Okie dokie. Update time. 72 hours in the baggie and we have taproots so that means everyone went into the dirt. I’d love for all 12 to pop. I’ll do my best to squeeze them all in. Thinking I’m going to let them pop, transplant them to 1 gallon pots, top once, and flip. Going to have to really use the trelis.

No change. One kinda sorta is trying to poke itself through. There might be a photo tomorrow of something pops out the ground.

Please expand on why you probably shouldn’t have smoked her

She was covered in thrip damage so what I thought was done was just bug eating all the stuff away. Then if you compare to what I grow now, i definitely would have passed the whole plant elsewhere lol.

Well we got signs of life. 6/12 are popped outta the dirt.

@Headies12green lesson learned the hard way. I’d love to say I washed it and all. That would be a lie which is why I said, I probably shouldn’t have smoked it. Wouldn’t smoke it now cause I know better.
