I’m holding a pack right now of a Maui IBL, I’m looking to do a repro of it come spring. It’s never left the islands so it’s very different from the Maui Wowie that people know and love.
It smokes and feels a lot like a Mexican or Colombian and I believe it descends from a Central or South American landrace types. It could even have a little Thai in it but I’ve never seen it display that very squirrel tailed or Sativa thin leaf from the Maui IBL lines that stayed here.
I’ve been also on the hunt for a good OLD Maui wowie but don’t know if those 2 seed companies are worth it. I’d like some old stock and REG seeds everything seems feminized. Lmk if you make some beans if would love to trade for some if possible.

I doubt this is anywhere near the original but I’m growing one from The Seed Fair
This Girls is a beast, I quad lined and trained sideways until ~20" wide and then let her grow up. At stretch she was growing 3 inches a day
My other three girls were at 1" per day !
Finally, at 48" high I super cropped her, installed 3 bamboo stakes and a wire hoop, I then tied the super cropped branches to the wire at ~38" high.
Still, those branches grew another 10" horizontally and 6" up. So I pulled those three tallest mains into the center ! In the next two weeks she was back to 48" high !
