Nope, I bake it after I make the sandwich. No real mess either, ya just wrap the sandwich in foil before putting it in the oven. You do have to clean the spoon and bowl afterwards but dishes tend to need cleaning after cooking anyways. I suppose if you’re using the natural peanut butter that’s really oily it could be messy, but I just use regular peanut butter, usually store brand or jif.
