@Strungthru Congratulations Brother Fresh Strings sounds nice I wanted to get into luthiery myself and make classical guitars mostly! How cool man I strum a little guitar too!
Luthiery is an addictive thing! Once you start diving down that rabbit hole you will be looking at random boards like “damn that would make a pretty top!”
I build electric guitars and basses, but i have always wanted to take my hand in acoustic making! Its a little different then the solid body work i do, where you would need a way of bending the wood to form the shape of the instrument. StewMac offers a wide range of tools if you are ever interested in taking a crack at it!
I would also like to thank Farmer Freeman for sex tests I will use on the Meigs County Gold side of the grow, as i have plenty of the Lemon G Bx seeds!
Farmer Freeman offers a varitey of tests on their website if you are not familar with them!
This is not a paid advert, just a shoutout because i love their early sex test kit! You can test a seedling in as little as 7 days! Just mail off the samples to them and they will email you results!
Hi @Strungthru , having run out of likes on your last grow journal was very much one I enjoyed. I’ll get reserved seating with a big
bag of popcorn. I just set this thread on my watch list. Thanks for all you do here, including sharing your incredible luthier skills.
@Strungthru I already know luthiery can be addictive, especially with my addictive tendencies Oh I can totally see seeing random boards and thinking it’ll work!
Electric & Basses are awesome! Seeing how I strum, I’m a big fan of guitars! Which manufacturers / body styles do you create?
Yes, I’m familiar with StewMac. They do have some great stuff fo sho!
@GanjaRasta4life in my time doing this i have made several strat and super strat shapes( ibanez, kiesel), as well as some tele and les paul shapes, and a few fender and musicman bass shapes. I custom cut body shapes for people aswell that are out of the ordinary. Like this one for example.
@Strungthru I ran outta like emojis with that said, you’ve got skillz man! Your personal favorite is straight fire bro! I love it! I see you’re a lefty What kind of wood did you use? Flame maple, rosewood fretboard (24 frets)… Sweet Breddren
That green one is one piece sapele back, with a bookmatched flame maple cap! The neck is 5 piece maple mahogany, with a three piece mahogany/maple/macassor ebony fingerboard!
The side of the neck has looks like it has an accent stripe down below the fingerboard doing this!
I covered the pickups with cocabolo covers and pickup rings! Nitrocellulose lacquor finish!
