Mexican Death Sativa repro

What a difference a month makes.
Looks like i have a male and a female. I’ll be removing the male very soon.

your plant looks very healthy right now PTB! i’m so tempted to take you up on your cutting offering. i’ve had my eye on MDS since i saw the repro on overgrow here a few months ago. i’m just wondering if it would be foolish, since i was gonna be popping seeds for my third grow soon-ish. hmmm…

Oh boy @overgr0w

So, I was battling spidermites for probably a month or so, and couldn’t seem to get fully on top of them. Sooooo I eventually had to sacrifice the many to save the few — my last round of MDS got the chop :pensive:
I only have seedstock left from one pheno in the fridge. And have no plans of revisiting the project as of yet.

So if you got packs from me (or bodhi), I’d recommend increasing those :grimacing:

As far as the Spidermites go, they’re gone. And for anyone who’s considering using Dr. Zymes — they get a thumbs up from me! Sulfur too… but ugh, that stuck will fuck with your plants a bit.

Ugh, sorry to hear bout the borg! If you don’t mind, what was your sulfur process?

I think it was 1tbsp per gallon  Don’t quote me, because I’m not looking at the package at the moment. It did pretty okay… I’m sure it helped cut their numbers. But mannnn… it would burn the growing tips of branches (& nothing else haha) — which killed a tray of clones, and really set me back on taking more. But hey, small price to pay in the grand scheme

The MDS rooted well and I got 2 of the mulante? going.
I’ll probably take some pics soon.

Mulanje?

Its a highland malawi. The line going around recently was collected by Tangwena

My Mulanje seeds were from old Malberry seed stock. I believe i read that Tangwena got his from Malberry too. I only got two to germinate and both are female. I am trying to reverse them so i can make some seeds.

Here’s the MDS. It’s getting really tall. Hopefully my neighbor doesn’t reach over the wall and help himself.

Here’s the MDS

And the top cola

Trichomes are a mix of clear and cloudy. Not sure when she’s going to be ready. The neighbor left the outside lights on for a few hours last night and the lights were shining on the top cola, so I’m going to be on the lookout for intersexism.

Looking great Pinetar. How did she end up smoking?

@TexasTea I’ve been on a 4-5 month hiatus so my opinion is somewhat skewed. That being said, I like it a lot. I find it similar in many ways to the CrypticLabs Oaxaca that I grew, in the smell, taste and the quality of the high. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a relative of the Oaxaca in the MDS parents. The high is very much in the head and not much of a body high. The high lasts for a long time, more than five hours. There is a noticeable drop towards the end. I found the high of the Oaxaca to last even longer, but my sensitivity is probably due to my temporary sobriety. I like mixing the two together in my vaporizer, as I find they compliment each other nicely and the Oaxaca reduces the drop off of the MDS. If someone is a fan of Oaxaca, i bet they would also be fond of the MDS.

Thanks so much for the report. Definitely sounds like a worthwhile grow.
