Micro Grow Off Ideas!

Interior measures Exactly 1x1x2 lol. My box is a little wonky because I eyeballed it on the table saw, things are off by exactly one saw blade lol. The two panels (front and back) are a sawblade too wide, along with being a sawblade too short (Should have been 25 1/2 but ended up being closer to 25 7/16 lol)

I’ll probably get my sander out today and make everything line up.

 mine will likely have legs and a top adding to the exterior dimensions. Still mocking up the design, but it is getting closer. I’ll post my design here before I start to build it.

That’s sweet, looks like you can have a couple 1x1x2 spaces there

Your house for slurpees

It will get cut to size, just repurposing the wood.

New 5 Gal bucket in the works

@GumbyBuds What i wanted to show was the intake going in the same direction of the fan in the lid, it causes the incoming air to spin around the chamber, and should make things more ventilated but less light proof than my previous design.

With lid and controls i still need to do i should be running around 55w, which is a little high for 0.66sqft

Really like that design, excited to see this in action bro

Is it not true with autos light proofing isn’t as big of a deal?

I wonder the same, not sure if they need uninterupted sleep like photos… Do they hermie etc

Pretty sure thats what I’m running in my micro

The biggest question I am curious about, is if they are less susceptible to the stress of light leaks.

they are more prone to stress so you dont want any kind of stress. light leaks. training. nothing

Got my box mostly designed. It’s pretty simple, still debating on intake. I can either use my ScrubNinja light trap, or scrounge up some PVC elbows. The bottom of the box is the planter. I’m going to attempt a Sub Irrigated Planter (SIP) in a Soma style bed. Haven’t decided what I’m going to grow, a seed most likely.

I took apart that pantry apart, and took a few pieces over to my dad’s workshop. We cut the pieces to the specifications, smoked a bowl, then took the Christmas stuff out of the attic.

I took those pieces home and lightly sanded it. Then I screwed it all together with the same screws i took out. :joy: I plan to reuse as much of the hardware as possible. I have hinges, latches, hooks, and even decorative corners.

Next steps will be to cut the ventilation holes and sand it. Then I’ll probably paint the inside and stain the outside. I’m going for a rustic look. The PC will basically be rebuilt in this box. This box will sit where the PC is now.

Looking beautiful brother… Love a well done build

@GumbyBuds @Jellypowered i beg to differ in some respects to @lotus710 in regards to autos with light leaks as they are considerably less susceptible to issues on light leaks and time schedules compared to photoperiods,

But in regards to training and pruning and other factors such as watering they are more touchy solely because they are on a limited time schedule and will finish in that time that they are genetically programmed to do, so unlike photoperiods where you have the option to veg longer for training purposes or mishaps, autos you have to be more on point with as they aren’t as forgiving on issues due to that limited time span, you can still train and prune them but it better to do light changes gradually over time than big drastic changes that can cause the plant to slow down.

Apart from that you treat them the same.

My point about the light proofing for myself was more in regards to light escaping out not in making it less obvious.

@ReikoX go for a false bottom for air, used it many times in the past and it works great for light, so have the bottom where the center half or so is open for air then just build a secondary bottom above that where air can come up on the left and right hand sides, effectively making sorta two 90 degree angles the light has to go around to get out, and just paint inside that space flat black and your good to go.

Can you share pictures of this false bottoms and how you make them? I hope this DIY guide makes it to your to-do list
