The most dangerous part is filling it which I do outside. The rest is all enclosed and almost all of the butane is recovered. There’s really no parts there that can fail. In short if it fails the neighborhood is fine. This is about the safest way to do solvent extractions. I also have a proper vacuum chamber setup.

I went with best value vacs. They’re hq isn’t far from me so I went straight to the source. They’re excellent people in there. “Family” if you will. They have me a tour and a demonstration. Very high quality. Very good customer support. You can look around and find coupon codes too. I believe all in I have about 1500 in mine but I still need to upgrade to a splatter platter setup, and eventually want a better vacuum oven.
This holds roughly a qp of material. It’s got most of the upgrades available (dewaxing column, sight glass, ball valve, XL size upgrade from the mini, no splatter platter (d’oh)) really this is an entry level setup and wouldn’t go any smaller. I love it. I’m hoping to really perfect the craft when I get some time to go at it.

I have a couple of buddies who have purchased one and have been slowly upgrading with quick connectors, variable size chambers etc. The products are starting to really taste a lot like the plants.

I have started one friend from nothing and provided a nephew with all of his current genetics (poor soul).
Overgrow with friends (where possible).

Prohibition sucks man. Fear is real here. I have a family. I wish I had a better network to trade clones all of us keep mothers. Work together. Instead I’m limited on power consumption for fear of getting caught. I’m limited on space because I had to build a covert secret room. I’m limited on resources because there’s not grow stores on every corner, and ordering online can be sketchy etc.

If we are going to put up some beans, might I suggest that the beans not be our wondrous crosses, but maybe a prize with an established strain / breeder pack as the prize.
