Micro Growing with Mr.Sparkle *2018 Part 2of2*

back left and the right most plant are, the right most one will be finishing up probably the same time and the center front most plant “GSCxDD” or a couple days afterwards, the back left though yeah no idea on that one.

Well just to be open and to share.

Here are some of the Blue Dreamatic top/side buds. I will definitely not run these again unless the smoke changes my mind. So apart from the lankiness and longer growing cycle and what seems to be a wide variability in phenos, the bud structure to me is “crap” to put it bluntly.

The stacking/ calyx bursting, what happens is the calyx at least for the tops grows like a head of lettuce or cabbage, sure adds weight but those inner leaves and calyx’s don’t get a chance to really develop any resin till they burst through just like how said lettuce/cabbage flowers, and when it has enough energy to do so your just getting spiked tops on a stem like the latter photo which ive seen before in some other genetics.

So the better Blue Dreamatic

The crappy one, with that three headed bud i showed earlier in this thread.

Now compare those to say this (GSCxDD) cross, which is growing nice buds, its just a smaller plant.

Day 65 saying screw it and some of the plants are coming down tomorrow, the GSCxDD had a little bit of mold starting on it, so good enough excuse as any.

Really i just want to move on.

the TDC harvest a week and a bit ago has now gone into a jar

and to show off that calyx stacking “cabbage” like trait on the Blue Dreamatics

Closed over packed calyx

A open one

well finally done, my cross trimmed nicely.

Ended up with 185g “wet” with 35g of trim

The stem needed a little help.

The good Blue Dram though, resinous, looks good, but all popcorn and small buds was quite a mess.

Bottom pile begin the trim from the blue dream “had to throw it on its own tray after this” it will make a decent amount of resin.

But was 165g “wet” of popcorn and smaller buds, and 65g of trim

Comparison “blurry” compared to a beer i was siping at the time, somewhat localish brewery that does good beer and soda.

To just show the stem work needed on this thign to keep it under control

Whole mornings work with some food a shower and a beer in the mix. Gonna be less than my last round but expect to be in the 1.6gpw range when everything is dried

Awesome grow again! I can’t believe the yield you get from such small pots. It also opens up the possibility of improving the g/kWh even more if pots are started in a smaller area, allowing the same light intensity with less energy usage, then moved to a larger space as the plants fill in?

You could and i have for compactness even while keeping mothers and clones or just doing autos. Also totally doable if one is hunting for high g/kwh efficiencies but here’s something to consider, at this level how much energy are we actually using ?

Currently running at 99w over 18hrs a day, so 12.5kwh a week, my cost of electricity is minimal at $0.087 per kw/h, that only say a $1.10cnd a week

Consider say im running autos and i scale up as we go, the plants i like to run will fill my space around week 3 to 4. So say if i had two down scaled spaces for those initial 3 weeks split in two 1.5week segments at say 60w and 30w a piece. Being pretty proportional from my experience say we did that and im still running 18hr days

For the 40w space i would consume 7.5kwh over 10.5 days, and 11.5kwh in the 60w space for another 10.5 days, so say 19kwh over that 3 week span vs 37.5kwh at 99w im saving 18.5kwh

Gram/KWH wise though that savings would jump my numbers from 1.65g/kwh going from my past rounds yield, to say 1.95g/kwh which is a decent 18% increase, but my cost is $1.60 so at my scale i’ll eat the costs for running one space and full wattage haha

Day something … 69 i suppose. Well the scraggy lanky blue dream has been chopped. Actually trimmed beter than the previous one, and turned out to get a really colorful plant, resin production and structure were very lack luster on this one.

Also look what i found from the last trows at this plant trying to carry on its genetic code, weren’t viable yet and only found literally a couple but still same issues as others at least on this one.

Hadn’t measured till just now but came out at 151g bud to 24g trim “wet” on this last plant.

So 700g “wet” as the total for bud on this round, we will have to see how it dries, but id say 140-175g dried when all is said and done.

Also something to consider, the first plant pulled weighed the heaviest and it descended in order to the last plant harvested, usually that happens the other way around.

We will say day 6 right now, they have had a bit of a rough start, as they were thrown by a window for awhile till i really needed to give them some light.

So they are behind where they would normally be at this age, but they are just testers so not concerned with final out come as i except i’ll chop them half way. Oh and the one is a mutant trifoliate than normally i won’t let continue for how mangled it is “seed damage” but just letting it go anyways.
