MoBillys Forevermore Green Room Thread (Part 3)

What’s he growing?

He was growing some GG crosses that a friend gave him. Lost it all from mildew.
I didn’t see pictures but he described white powder wilt…
That’s what I surmised.

I’m sending him some S1 Frankenstein seeds and some other stuff that claims to have a higher resistance for spring.

Would Sulphur take care of this?

Too late for this year.

Here is my advice to take or leave:

Growing OD is all about strain for the environment you are growing in. If in a humid area growing Sativa dominant plants are the way to go. Dense buds will most likely mold in an environment with high humidity. Next year he should pick a better strain for his area.
Mulching around his plants will not help in mold or PM and in fact could help spread it to the plants if the mulch gets moldy. Mulch is mainly used to keep weeds from taking over and not stealing nutrients from your soil.

That is pretty much what I told him. How about that. I’m learning some stuff about stuff!

He could use a permeable weed fabric. That would eliminate a few of the negatives mentioned. Even moisture will help strengthen the plant and strong plants fight off disease and pests a bit better. Paired with a sulfur spray, best of both worlds. Important to distinguish whether its PM or Botrytis

High humidity , high temps & lots of bugs / critters . SC like FL Gulf coast . 100% agree with OJ . Full-on tropical sativa hybrids or heavy sat-dom like 70/30 . Something low-land preferably . Sturdy , open structure a huge plus .

@boatbum325
I have a few sativa leaning strains I can send him. He said where he’s at a sativa would have time so I hope he’s right.
I think @JohnnyPotseed took the brass ring with the idea of bringing them in to flower the plants. That would make a lot of sense.
I might even try that here just to save on electricity… lol
Those GFOG’s looked beautiful! If I’d brought them in sooner to finish them in controlled environment they would have done great.

I only did that for ‘special’ plants, lol like Frankenstein & a couple more. I had over 500 plants going almost all times, so couldn’t have that many inside the privacy fenced area. But it did work nicely for the ones I did it with.

I’m going to hit the pipe a couple more times and watch some kind of comedy (kinda like that “Who’s Line is it Anyway” lol) then turn in early. I’m tired for no reason I’m aware of. lol
Ain’t done hardly nothing all day and I’m shot.
