Healing vibe recieved @MoBilly. Had a follow-up with the surgeon last week. Still more pain than they’d like to see. Me too, but I continue to improve. Slower than anyone would like. They do a qmordered a fresh MRI for a fresh look. I scheduled it, then I cancelled it. Regardless of the outcome or what they see, I’m a long ways from signing up for surgery.
Thru all this, I have not missed any important events, and there were a lot of them. Birthdays. Lots of them. Baptisms, births and deaths. A wedding! Life in full swing! I missed some youth sports, which are near and dear to my heart! 
They’re big enough to understand.
Yes, I hurt. The best medicine, for me, is family and friends. When I am with them, I rarely notice.

Good for you bro!! I hear that the rule of thumb… is dont do surgery unless you CANNOT live with what is going on… @crownpoodle

I put it off for 30 years. I totally agree with no surgeries unless necessary. The level of arthritis I have made the surgeries I had “iffy”. Had to have bone density scans to make sure I had enough bone! The older surgeon I’ve talked to would have started fusing me into being a statue. I went with a different approach. Younger guy with pretty progressive ideas. Techniques. @MoBilly he’s a cellist in the symphony. Travels a lot to play. He must have good hands…right? If I had waited longer, I may not have been a candidate for what they did.

same here with avoiding the knife @crownpoodle . that’s how i got on the oxy train. glad I didn’t let em fuse me. i’m not gonna lay down for a 50/50 chance you can “fix” me. i saw that “code 800” …aka…“failed back surgery syndrome” on the docs code sheet. there’s a reason it’s there and it isn’ t good. none of it is good! ouch.

I have an appointment to see a specialist on Monday. I’ll know more then. I don’t see how they can wait on it. My bicep is all jacked up and I can’t move my arm in certain directions. I get zero response other than a balled up mess of a bicep.
I believe there will be no alternative but surgery.
I read where rehab can take over six months for some people.
that will make this summer… less than productive. And THAT hurts as bad as the injury.

I couldn’t agree more. The love of family and true friends is the best medicine. When I am surrounded by that warmth, the pain becomes an afterthought.

i hope it all goes well. think they will just take ya back and fix on ya tomorrow or will they make ya sit and hurt longer before addressing it?
my future will be revealed next tuesday when the surgeon gets his first look at his work. not gonna be fun either way it goes but i’m just here ridin the ride @ this point.

Thanks guys. The swelling has gone down some and the pain is less today. I didn’t start the day with a pill so that’s something right there.
Ice is helping bring down the swelling. And as long as I keep the sling on it is bearable. At least I have Eva to help pull my dang pants up. lol

I’m seeing a lot of deficiency showing up but when I water this evening I’ll have a better idea what is going on.
And for reference; I had Eva take this picture of my two Frankenstein that just got flipped. They’ll be flattened out and opened up in a day or two.
Again, not much of an update but it’s something. I’m going to try and keep posting on here. Definitely not as much but as I can.
