yes cedar shake shingels is all i’ve used on the river to stop water from filling a void tank on a barge,had i leaker that we started with 2x4’s to plug the hole, where it was rammed by another barge. i caught a tow boat in july of 1973 back then we did’nt have to ware a life jacket or have steel toe boots the safety rules did’nt start till about 1982 .By then i was in the engine room, had a rental mobile home lived in the other on a 3 acre lot had every thing i thought i needed. i know about leaks ,as far as the river industry goes!
