Oh boy these grape stomper plants are going crazy with grape candy aromas right now. It’s almost like grape big league chew/ grape hubbabubba with a little funk on the back end. This is the most grape I’ve personally had, yet
One is a f3 and one is a cut I was gifted from a friend in the legal industry who used to run a company before he sold it.
Coming up on 4 weeks of 12/12 tomorrow, will probably go 6 more at least for the one and at least 5 for the other, they don’t seem to be very fast flowering, but if the profile maintains I will be happy to wait.
The frost is starting to come on nice, gave them a topdress of some amendments and compost +EWC today. Growing all organic with pretty much just water, I’ll do a aerated compost tea in a week or two, I find it really brings the aromatic profile of most strains out in the final stretch.
Going to hit them with the grape freezer male, haven’t decided which one yet, might do a couple branches of each for posterities sake haha. Looks like I had a bit of pollen get in but I think I was just a bit too rough removing leaves, time shall tell
I’ve heard great things about Mendocino purps aswell, I think there’s some good grape phenos in those beans.
I had some mendo montage flower that wasn’t grown well and it just turned me off of the strain a bit haha

Mendo Purps is my go-to grape strain. It smells exactly like fresh grapes and has one of the happiest and cleanest buzzes of anything I’ve ever tried. I got some nice artificial candy grape scents and flavors from Mass Medical’s Hindu Pupil too.
I also did some breeding with an Ultimate Purple male and ended up with some very interesting flavor profiles of artificial sweeteners and metals with a floral grape background. I’ve only run two of my crosses but I’ve got a ton more locked away in the fridge for a rainy day.

I definitely would like to try those mendo p s1s from CSI, I’ve heard great things, even notsodog has praised them.
I got some omuerta Quetzalcoatl f7s on the way, I have been wanting to get some since like f5 generation but I couldn’t find stock anywhere.
It’s a worked line of the grape stomper sweet candy grape pheno, which is what I believe the cut I have is.
Pretty excited to give these a try and add them to my stomper genetics collection.
I’ve heard good things about omuerta genetics, I like that he’s working a bunch of lines instead of just doing hype crosses, it seems that most “breeders” now are not working anything just doing batches of F1 hybrids with the hype strains
@liminal_gnome I’m sad that NASC doesn’t do Canadian shipping they seem to have a great breeder selection and do some cool freebies that sound interesting, seems like a solid bank

Totally agree hype is getting crazy. Ive had stuff that would blow stuff out of the water but its cuts not seed.

@Purple_Drank604 haha it’s pretty wild, poly hybrids of poly hybrids and people being upset when they don’t get consistent plants from them haha.
Don’t get me wrong, I like some poly hybrids and if you’re willing to hunt you can find some cool stuff in them, but I don’t like how things have gotten with the majority of seeds being sold seeming to be poly ‘hype-brid’ after ‘hype-brid’. I just think it waters stuff down when it’s not done with intention.
I admit I am interested in the sunken treasure stuff quite a bit, running a bunch next
I agree lots of classics can easily be better than these hype strains, I’ve enjoyed a few but just because they’re similar to the classics haha. I think cookies is just really some kush s1 with hype branding lol

I took a sample nug off my grape stomper plant the other day, it should be dry enough to pop in the vaporizer today, excited to see how it is. The grape is still very strong, but it’s also got a underlying funk coming out a bit more too, certainly a skunky tone underneath the heavy candy grape aroma.
Plant is unbelievably frosty, and has flowered very fast, 7 weeks tomorrow and I could probably take it down but I’ll let it go one more week at least, I want to make sure the seeds are mature.

A random one off when I missed a Lightsaber (exotic) male and he dusted a couple plants I had it that room. Including a Grape God (Grapefruit x GodBud)
If no grapes but dank, may have to coin it Windu kush or something

I didnt! but would sure love the opportunity to hunt those. My dance card is somewhat full as of right now, but always looking ahead. I have a bunch of Jamaican Grape preservation work to hunt through next run.
