Movies you have watched multiple times

LOL. Growing up with a millionaire daddy probably tends to have that effect.

If life includes growing weed, and I think for most of us it does, there may be a few life lessons to be learned here that are not in any of those movies, great as they may be. Just one guys opinion.

The Karate Kid films were so much fun to watch growing up. It made you feel as if you could take on the bullies just like Daniel-San.

Not the entire movie. But about the first half hour, is frickin hilarious.

Hard outta likes.

Certainly at least some of the time.

I went to school with a lot of kids whose parents were seriously wealthy, some generationally. I could tell you so many fucked up stories.

When a kid on our (I was a gymnast) gymnastics team turned 16, his folks gave him a new Mercedes Benz 230SL. It was powder blue. He complained loudly to anyone who would listen that what he really wanted was a gull wing, but it was out of production. Spencer was a serious asshole, not unlike lots of other kids I went to school with. He had nothing on the Bradbury girl, whose name escapes me. It’s not like we dated! Thankfully! :joy:

Where did you attend High skewl?

Hamilton High in Los Angeles. At the time, about half the student body lived in Cheviot Hills. It abuts Beverly Hills.

Man, that’s a gorgeous car. Once upon a time, my grandfather had a gold Gullwing. He was seriously wealthy until 2008, then just regular wealthy.

He passed last month, but MAN do I have some stories to tell about him. He was president of a pretty large company at one point, and was a million-miler on Delta and American. He lived enough for a hundred lifetimes.

Speaking of stories, he sold that 300SL in the early 90s to Robert Cade, the inventor of Gatorade.

That’s funny, I’ve got a Hamilton and a Cheviot right near me. Nowhere near LA, though. LOL

True Romance, such an amazing movie with Christian Slater and chicken shitted “Balkie” (from an old sitcom) gets shot as informer.
‘Call an Ambulance!’
‘You’ll need a hearse!’
It’s hilarious!

Bishop O’dowd had its share of generationally wealthy too. First time i saw cocaine he made an M 4 me to snort. The wealthy taught me drugs. Wrong crowd to learn from for a Serf.

ET was a great flick

I so hate being outta likes at times like this!

I parked cars for a very short time at The Millionaire’s Club in Hollywood. I got to park a gull wing once! It was so exciting for a kid! No shit.

I’m sorry for your loss if you were close to him. Hang onto those stories you have about him. They’ll be gold later in your life.

@slippy790, interesting they’re both near you.

I believe that! I think I liked them, at least the first one, as much as my kids did when we saw it shortly after it opened.

Every croptober when I’m in trim jail I marathon Lord of the rings and Star Wars in chronological order over a weekend. Usually gets me through lol

Thank you for your condolences. I was very close with him; it was rough, but without going into too much detail, it was about time. Alzheimer’s and the things that come with it, like the “memory care” facility, aren’t fitting for a man of his caliber.

Not that anyone deserves it, but sometimes it seems like that stuff gets reserved for the very best of us, for whatever reason.

On a lighter note, that sounds like a KILLER job for a teenager. How’d you end up there? What other cool stuff did you get to park?

It was, but I only did it for less than two weeks.

A rich kid I knew from school got me the job. He also parked cars there, but I think he did it for fun. He’d take members’ cars out and drive 'em around, and as fun as that sounded, there wasn’t a snow ball’s chance in a non-existent hell that I would have risked going to jail for something that stupid. And I was getting high by that time!

The Gullwing was the coolest vehicle I got to “drive” /park. At least one Rolls Royce a night wasn’t uncommon. I’m sure there were at least a few of what we would today call exotics too, I just don’t recall them particularly. Just that Gullwing.
