Sounds like you know your mush @anon93244739 but my experience has not been the same . If I grow say B+ from spore one time it doesnā€™t mean it will be the same next time . As I understand it thatā€™s the way spores work . The dominate spores in the syringe will win out when colonizing . Kind of like sperm . Which means you can have a lot of variation from any given strain . Im no expert but like you Ive done a lot of cubes and I believe this to be true . Could be wrong .

I agree with you @floyd ā€¦ a cube is a cube is a cube, unless itā€™s PEā€¦ Then itā€™s what the fuck was that!

Sweet tampenesis and bisporus as well @anon93244739

I have an Atl 7 print out waaaay up for safe keepingā€¦ Need to bust it out one of these daysā€¦

Iā€™ll agree there is bit variation in strength from a multispore syringe of any strain. Its really almost like you can group them into races or geographical areas by effect. Like your going to have basically the same trip from any cube, but there is definitely variation in effect depending on where it originated. Like a sativa and an indica both get you stoned, but the subtleties are different. APE ia really unique. If you havenā€™t had them, put them on your bucket list. Iā€™d equate them to more like a ps. Cyans or allenii in effect.

Yes!

They are basically the same mush makeup throughout but certain regions of origins have differing potency in the genes.

Only point I try to get across when I say a cube is a cube except for PE as they are asexual and canā€™t be crossed to increase potency or effectā€¦

PE,in general, I feel like not only did I eat too many mushrooms I liked some acid on top of it l

Not true.

Burma crossed with PE

Personal theory is PE and APE all have a high baeocistin/norbaeocistin levels, which accounts for the harder trips despite them testing at normal psilocybin levels.

Thatā€™s variety breeding thoughā€¦ not interspecies, is my pointā€¦

Making mushroom crosses is done by isolating a haploid mycelia, allowing it to colonize, then innoculating with a multispore syring. Fungi have multiple genders so you need to make sure you have 2 compatible ones, allow those to grow and spore out, those new spores are now a hybrid. Then you start isolating cultures and working out a line from your cross. The f1 as it were will be uniform, but your next generation is everywhere. I gave a BPE print to a friend who had nothing that looked like mine grow from it. They were all different.

It could be argued thats all we do with cannabis tooā€¦ or dog breedsā€¦

I have a galandoii x mexicana A spore swab Iā€™m waiting to use for a special occasion. The creator line bred it for 5 years, and has only released a few swabs, he said it makes the biggest truffles he has ever seen!

If pouring your own, leave a warm jar on your stacked plates and will reduce condensation

Did you get this to start pinning?

Okā€¦new mushroom guy here. Where are you doing agar work? Are you inoculating the plates in a still box or in front of a flow hood? Iā€™m moving to agar because Iā€™ve heard it helps with contamination.

No, but I am a week out, consolidating, the next run. Hopefully this will produce something.

Make a still air box. Use a 32 qt or bigger. I have a 4" hole saw I use to make my holes. Youtube oven agar tek

Pf tek again? Try keeping em in the jars until you see pins. Once fully colonized I give em a few days to finish up on the interior of the cake. Then open it up and scrape the dry verm off. Then you can soak in the jar for 12-24 hours. Dump the water back out and just wait for some pins. Pins much better and quicker this way as compared to birthing before fruiting for me.

Yea, well I kinda blew up my jars when I was sterilizing. All jars cracked and I didnā€™t realized they were cracked until after I inoculated them. Tape is my best friend and surprisingly I was able to salvage the run, no contamination! So I will have to remove them from the jars. Any suggestions to get these to pin, I am all ears?
