Mushrooms - DIY, spores, etc 🍄 (Part 2)

I keep an air purifier around my mushrooms to keep mold outta my tubs. I have kept contam tubs just to watch it grow but I made sure to not open it until I was done and threw it out outside. Its something you can control by keepin the tub closed, @AppalachianBiscuits is right about it being pretty obvious when you do get a bit of mold. I’ve been able to scoop out some contam before the whole tub got ruined, without airflow mold is slow to spread
Good luck! its a lot of fun watching them grow, I don’t know many people who’ve givin up the hobby who didn’t have to

Anybody ever try growing shroomies in the same fabric pot as their weed…if you do a full scrog, the canopy creates enough shade that i think it could/would work

The shade doesn’t matter that much. Mushrooms need light in a different way than cannabis — but they still need light. The problem that I see immediately is there are several things used in growing cannabis (trich for one) that would not go well with the mush.

I’ve seen people with shrooms in the tent with weed. I think their motivation is the shrooms produce co2, which benefits the plant.

Ive grow n winecap (maybe chestnut? I’m high a lot) in the mulch between my garden beds. They LOVE that shit.

Separate from the soil I’m planning it myself! Although I’ll just be putting in blocks of spawn — they’ll still try to fruit eventually. In the same soil though I think you’d have problems.

Gourmet nonpsychoactive mushies are easy to grow and are harvested before they drop spores. You’ll be fine. All can get ready to fruit blocks you just put into fruiting conditions. Should be an fun and xperiment for ya. Don’t forget a sponso @MushroomManMycology sells gourmet ready to fruit, liquid culture, and colonized agar wedges. I did actually message this person and asked some questions.

Amazing, thank you.

I would not grow mushrooms next to cannabis. The same reason i dont grow garden varietals next to cannabis indoors. Just setting yourself up for problems the same way outdoor garden varietals work great together, and others dont…
Plant tomatoes next to basil/oregano etc but not near squashes/cucumbers
Some plants attract pests/bacteria/mold that other plants are very susceptible to.

MushroomMan is legit. I’m about to pick up another order from him. Some king oysters this time, I think.

Nows the time! Those Kings like it cold, they usually wont pin above 60F.
Blue Oyster are another great option to run with Kings as they like it cold too.

Anyone know what’s going on with this one here it seems like it should be ready to start pinning, But also looks like It’s may be wanting to turn into some weird blob Mutation And I don’t know what’s going on anymore lol. This is from an all in one bag that was injected with a liquid culture from p nats

That looks like it should be thrown away. Sorry.

Overlay probably due to environmental issues

Overlay. Nats like FAE

And a bit bacterial as well. You can tell by the slight yellowing. Nats need good fresh air exchange

Looks like that one’s getting scrapped then!

What I would do is move away from other grows and Continue to grow out. It’s good to learn stuff. Bacterial doesn’t spread like tric and won’t prevent fruiting. You will still get good fruits maybe shaped weird but very safe to eat and will still make you trip balls. Your yields will be effected but it’s good for learning imo!
