I’ll probably make tincture out of the 73 and 25 ones.
Bubble hash has terms? I’m making tea? Beats me, it seems pretty straightforward. You bust off the trichomes and filter them. Then you see if it’s good? They have some kind of levels of good or something? It’s just piles of trichome caps and plant fibers, so what kind of terminology are we talking about?
*terps, stupid spellcheck
lol that is hilarious! terps becomes terms and all meaning is lost.
Well the thing is the bud starts out tasting great and the hash tastes great as a result. nobody got high offa lemon flavor. I prefer my delta 9 thc.
This hash rip says… I love you! Ohhh and I love you too little hash hoot, now get in my brain.
here’s a hilarious snap of the instant the hash touches the hot knife. The soul of teh trichomes R escaping!!!
anybody got any use for the leftover water, seems like a waste to pour it out.
I tasted a bit of it, tastes like spicy hash water; kinda nice but also very ‘green’ tasting.
I’m thinking let it sit, siphon off the top water and there should be some remainders left in the bottom.
I water my plants with my bubble water, they love it!
I have attempted to teach the justice league how to make the wax. Why would I do that? you ask. I was just curious about their ability to master a new concept. I told them you would see people making shit like this soon.
well, here’s the thing. I tried the king tut hash already and the wire test shows 2x the plant contamination. It’s still less than before, though heh heh. Phew I do like the flavor, though, it’s kind of like lilacs. Downside is it’s a small lump of inferior hash. Better than some! lol! Don’t get me wrong, terpenes matter, I’m not going to be happy if my hash tastes like pencil shavings. My top producer is a fruity flavor with the smallest of trichomes, it will take something of a highly superior variety to outproduce it in either areas, productivity or flavor. Even though the terpenes are super duper on the meat breath, the hash yield isn’t close.
Hey Joe I have a couple more questions for you that I’m sure are already answered in this thread that I’m too lazy to go back through haha
Sometimes when I run a batch it gets super foamy, some batches do and some don’t. The plants were all grown the same way, so what the heck is the foam anyways? I used your technique of rinsing and death dropping to get rid of it and it works great.
Secondly sometimes when I make a batch and then set it out to dry I can chop it into a powder the next day, but some batches stay ‘sticky’. Like even when they’re dry they stay in clumps and if you try to break the clump in half it stretches like bubblegum vs other batches that will ‘snap’ apart into pieces. Is this just due to the strain used or something?
I like to pulverize it all to powder when possible because it dries better and also then I can mix all the grades together much more consistently. When it stays clumpy I end up with tiger striped hash when I press it, which I will say looks pretty cool.
Also, how much ice do you use per 5 gallon run? I was using an entire bag to start but lately I’ve been using more like 3/4 of a bag and it seems to allow for better spinning. Is there a sweet spot?
yah the consistency of the hash is linked to the plant. The best ones are like bubble gum! I don’t mix the grades the 90 is the only one worth keeping. I use 12 trays of ice cubes usually. You just have to add enough ice it doesn’t melt too fast. When I bought it from the store I’d use most of the bag, but always keep some in case the first batch was melting quick.
So here’s a difference now in the hash from the before and after the micron sacks. Before they would dry usually solid but then full melt. Now instead they are like bubble gum even after weeks. Except of course the lower quality king tut hash! It’s not like bubble gum it’s hard and not easy to crush. Even when the big bud was done with the old bags it was so soft it would crumble. Now instead of crumbling it squishes like freshly chewed gum. I am willing to bet the meat breath comes out like bubble gum as well. The old hash patty from before is so soft it’s like flour.
So the old bags had a variable pore size & therefore a lack of clean grading?
Interesting

I’ve been reading on how long you should beat up the material for.
bubbleman says no more than 20 minutes per wash
google comes up with various results, 3 6 9 minutes for washes 1 2 3, 5 minutes per wash etc.
last run I did 30-40 minutes per wash did 4 washes and on the 4th it was diminishing returns.
quality is decent, but I’ve gotten much better. Starting material was OK, not great but still 3 freezer bags of fresh frozen decent resin content flowers.
I’m wondering if you are just busting open the gland heads after mixing for X amount of time.
What I found to be really strange was the fact it improved the big bud bubble hash but it didn’t improve the king tut hash. It still came out a hard chunk at 90μm. What was that old saying about purses and sow ears? oo Or garbage in garbage out.
It’s probably smashing up the plant material and producing more fibers in the hash with more washing cycles.
I was thinking about what to do with the residual plant material left after a seed run. It wouldn’t be good for bubble hash so the solvent route seemed to be appropriate (weirdly, I have a surplus of 190…). Yesterday, I took a hard look at QWET. It quickly became apparent that the process goes to great lengths to prevent the water soluble compounds from being picked up during the 3 min. wash process.
The old water cure process (that leaches most of the taste and flavor from the weed) might be very applicable here. Leach out the those compounds and then do the wash. Thereby minimizing the potential for contamination.
What are your thoughts? Could water cured weed be of benefit to the bubble hash process too?

Another question for you today
I was looking at bubble bags (I ruled them out as too costly years ago based solely on pricing I saw at Toronto Hemp Company…) and I found these:
Funny how they make you buy all 8 to get the four you want…
Are those reasonable bags for a reasonable price?
Thanx & Cheers
