ouch shipping is high on that, not too bad overall though for a quality product, i may look into diy hydrolic options but i like how this offers automation which allows for fine tuning

Been reading all of OG copiously for the last couple months. You have a lot of proven experience in extracts and concentrates. I hope you dont mind if I ask some advice.
I am about a week away from my 1st harvest in 40 years. I dont know what path I will follow with regards to concentrates yet, so I really dont want to spend a lot on equipment that I might never use. I would like to process some traditional smokable hash, and some vapable oil. For that I am assuming a buchner filter, and maybe winterizing will be my best bet.
I did buy a 180micron variable speed SS tumbler for dry sifting, I know you are a bubble guy but this is where I want to start. I did not buy further screens as I dont know if I need them yet. My initial thoughts are to dry extract the keif and then figure out what to do with it. This most certainly will require cleaning up.
I want to experiment with making a PG extraction using just keif, for vaping. Yields might be low but I am hoping I can come up with some 1-2 hit shit. Do you have any idea how to winterize lipids out of a PG solution? Do I just freeze it for a few days like I would an ethanol solution? Will it work?
What should I look for in vacuum pump for doing the filtration AND ethanol extractions? It is probably the most expensive piece and I want to buy wisely. I dont want something so cheap that I will end replacing it after 2 runs, but I also dont have a University budget. I am assuming that even a handheld pump would work for filtration. What level of vacuum do I need to pull for ethanol extractions and reclaim? Any special features I should look for? Is a single stage rotary vane the right type?
What are your thoughts on a trap? Never used one but from I read I probably want to. I see several types, which is best for ethanol reclaim?

well! I can tell you I just use a still to reclaim alcohols. Built out of a pressure cooker. I don’t actually do stuff like that anymore I retired the distillation equipment and chose mechanical production of hash and rosin. My setup for those processes used carboys full of solvent, placed on top of each other with a filter. I would never claim to be an expert at that! I would always use the quick wash method even with the making of tinctures. In an attempt to prevent the waxes and lipids from dissolving. If you want crazy reading on high tech shit like that, the place to go is future4200. Read some expert advice, real gold. The equipment you are talking about costs some bling/cheese that’s for sure. I got my bubble bags for 70$ and the press for 600 bucks. Lots cheaper 
Annnd I can still crank out 100% THCa.

How did I just find this! I’ve JUST recently decided to start making my own hash after many moons of someone doing it for me and I have been looking for the best methods. Gonna dig right in here. I know you are the man for hash @JoeCrowe so any links you can provide to other valuable threads would be much Much appreciated

Oh definitely! My new thread to monkey around with hash is “Hash Making Revisited” It’s like a journal that starts in this thread and tells the story of how I thought I was the hash champ then lost in the contest to high tech motherfuckers. So I started an evolution where I learned the secret to making prize winning hash, then coming up with my own methods that resulted in… me becoming the high tech motherfucker who won the contest lol!

Holy shit man, yah. The first steps towards becoming a legend! This thread and the other one is like some kind of recipe book for hash making fame. I think on reddit they said the interesting shit starts after post 800, after I’ve lost the competition and start punching above my weight.

Hi all hashischins. I have idea create hashbags from nylon filter mesh. Used for tofu. How much i need bags minimum and what cell size needs for this? What the material of main of the bags?

They are nylon mesh at 220, 160, 90, 73 and 25 micrometer.

One more question. If i dont freeze buds, mixed frash buds with ice, it will makes smokeble product? I dont need extra quality. Thinking doing it outdoor with handly drill.

I’m thinking of trying a bud wash to clean some outdoor, but I still want to try and turn it into fresh frozen. The reason I want to add the extra step is that I saw some powdery mildew show up that I’m worried about smoking…
I was thinking of doing the hydrogen peroxide wash followed by a water rinse, then freezing the buds once washed and turning into hash for edibles or tinctures.
Does this sound like a good game-plan or do you have another suggestion for my situation?

Yah definitely wash the buds it can help. At minimum, it can’t hurt.

@JoeCrowe What difference between THC reach hash versus CBD? Final weight hash from CBD buds more then THC?

I used harlequin which was 1:1, and I’ve made CBG hash as well. The harlequin yield sucked ass. The grapey walter CBG was a decent yield at 20 per kilo, but the yield from the fantasmo CBG was a couple of grams. I pressed them all into rosin, and gave away the harlequin one.
