Yep. Looks like a hermaphrodite to me. You can try pinching off the male parts or letting it grow out and make some feminized seeds
@corey That’s exactly what I’m planning, I just don’t know where I’ll put it, I don’t have a place for it. I’m going to have to put it with the seedlings I have from Cadman. I just don’t know how much they will handle the 12/12 mode. But I read that it works. I planned to use those BubbleGum seedlings for seed.
Sounds like a great plan! I would just keep an eye on things
I’m sorry to say but I would trash it. It’s one thing to get a few bananas halfway through or near the end. But this seems to be more than that.
Best of luck and all the best.
@Foreigner, @corey, For me, everything is new when it comes to growing. I really like learning and trying new things. So I’m disappointed with the hermia, but also excited at the same time. So I’m really thinking what now …
In the past year I’ve seen 2 full hermies and 3 that threw some bananas in mid to late flower.
It happens. It sucks. But don’t worry about it.
It’s an excuse to plant more seeds! I try to plant more than I need and make my final selections a few weeks into flower. It doesn’t always work out that way but that’s what I aim for.
So I slept on the decision and it’s already in the Box. The bubblegum will go out. I have to invent a carbon filter tow tomorrow because I don’t have another fan. And only enter if I water.
Sweet! That’s what I was hoping for. If anything it will be educational
@corey So you think it’s gonna be feminized seeds?
So that was 21 days in total of 12/12 photo period before you noticed pollen sacks? Were they all just starting like that or were there pollen sacks that were further along in development?
@JoeCrowe Because I checked in the beginning, I’m almost 100 percent sure they all started out as women. I checked everyone and they’re fine except this one. I only have a few pollen pouches…
Hey @Lapolda. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but female seeds come from plants that have male/female parts. Personally I would grow it out
@corey
Feminized seeds can be made from hermies, but they will pass on the genes that make it prone to stress herm. That’s why bigger breeders light stress test, to weed out the hermie genetics and then they use colloidal silver/silver thiosulfate on the stable pheno/genotypes to induce hermaphrositism without the y chromosome so that you have stable fems.
Nicely put @EugeneDebs420. @Lapolda there’s your answere. If you want a more stable feminized seed that don’t hermie. It’s best to reverse a female yourself. Thanks @EugeneDebs420 I thought I was missing something
@EugeneDebs420, @corey, Thanks for your reactions, guys. I was talking to a man who says he’s been making his own seeds for years. He takes pollen from hermia and pollens the branch of another feminized female. So I’d like to try
Maybe ask this guy if the pollen that he is using is coming off of a natural hermaphrodite or a reversed female. If it’s coming from a natural hermaphrodite like @EugeneDebs420 stated. Your fem seeds will have a trait in them that will naturally remake a hermi.
That’s the one thing keeping me from growing out all these bagseeds I’ve got. Friends get a bag of really good weed with a bunch seeds and they give em to me. I’m just thinking man that’s probably just a bag full of herms I ain’t putting them in my grow room.
I agree. You have no idea what’s in that seed. But I always did want to do an open pollination with imported brick seed. I just haven’t found the right spot for that yet
If I find one or two seeds in a bag I might give em a shot, but if half that bag is seed weight it’s a hard pass. No matter how good it was.
I’ve grown out 4 seeds from a late flower banana pollination recently. 1 was definitely male. 3 fems in early flower now. Wish me luck
