Going to track all my progress here, super excited! today is week 2 since my first seedling popped, i have another in soil waiting to pop, its a northern lights auto from rqs(freebie) and another bag seed that i’m planning on dropping in some soil later today.
Looking good so far! I hope things go smoothly, I’ll follow along.
Let’s fucking go my dude. You’re doing it.
Already looking good. Would like to jump in here and follow along. My Northern Lights did so so.
The beginning of a beautiful journey, bringing many flowers
Thanks for the comments & compliments, still gotta try and figure out this site but i’m sure i’ll learn as i go, yall seem like rlly cool ppls, happy to be here!
She’s transplanted folks
i was pretty surprised with how much root development was happening inside of that solo cup in just those short 2 weeks, threw some of that great white shit on the root ball and stuck her in! If you’re wondering why there’s salts on the pots in my first grow all of this equipment is used, came up on a great deal i couldn’t pass up on lol
Looking good matey I grew a northern lights auto from rqs got to 5 foot tall. Nice thick buds . Hope you have a success with this one matey
Since this is your first grow, how are you germinating the babies? Are you taking a seed and putting it straight in the dirt? The paper towel and baggie method? The soak and float method? You’ll find a lot of us on here all use a different method, er, except the seed straight to the soil method. Not sure many do that one.
My personal experience, not knocking any of the methods you described here, I’ve seen them all work perfectly. I have always put my seed straight in the dirt. Never had one not pop up. I take a solo cup, make an indention in my for ever home soil then fill it with starter soil, water it down real good, pop my seed in there and cover it with a clear solo cup. Blast my lil 100 watt light full power for a few days an she pops her lil head out. Then I’ll decrease the light intensity till she stretches out about 3 inches, top dress her up to the bottom of her leaves and she’s good to go. That’s just how I do it. Never had one fail me yet. Everyone has there lil tricks to the trade. I do mix a lil mycorrhizal in with the seed starter, ( not sure that’s spelled right) but seems to work for me.
Hell yeah brother. Not knocking anyone with my previous comment. No ill intentions. Whatever works for you works. Beautiful plants.
Another reason I go straight in soil is. My hands don’t work like they used to. I’m afraid I’ll break the tap root. Shiz happens when ya get older. ![]()

I completely understand that. I was nervous when I was just transferring out of the solo cups into the 1gs. No tap roots were damaged. Thankfully.
@Ibegeekdup yea just throwing them in soil, debated doing the soak and float but my first seedling popped in a solo cup with a bit of water so i just went with what worked, although i’m starting to lose hope that the northern light auto isn’t going to pop, i think it’s like day 5 or so since i planted it.
@Blitzman i was kind of hesitant on the soak and float for that same reason, i don’t trust myself messing with a taproot quite yet lol
I use dollar tree paper towel and throw them in a baggie for a few days. I got 19/22 this time. So not horrible odds.
I do the paper towel and plastic bag method. Two days and they are ready for soil. In a doubled Solo Cup. Until roots come out the drain holes. Then into a 2 or 3 gallon nursery pot and finally into a 5 gallon bucket. I use Mycos in each up potting.
You plants looking good, buddy. Q
thanks brother! i’m thinking that’s going to be the method moving forward
I can tag you into my thread if you would like. Results speak for themselves.
But you have to do you. My methods work for me. They may not work as well for you. After a couple runs, you will start doing the way you want and it will be good.
