I’ve even done 10/14 The lesser light gives you shorter flowering time but less bulk so the reverse with the 12/12 gives you the bulk but a little bit longer flowering
To me the difference for indica was not worth it
Now with long term saties it dose shorten the flowering time

I like 14/10 for veg and 10/14 for flower inside
with 3000 or 4000 watts of lights a couple hours will
save a few buck over a flower cycle

Ok cool. thanks for the good vibes @dequilo and @Papalag. Have y’all ever compared the same strain grow in 12/12 vs 10/14? Did you notice a difference in the smell or the taste in the final product. I listened to a podcast that suggested it might slightly alter those things. I’m getting the strongest smell from my taller granola funk lady. She smells like sharp grapefruit dank. The space cakes smell pretty strong too. They’re more like sweet funk. I’m still spraying calcium fpj and OHN. I Focus on the leaves but obviously some buds get sprayed a little. This will probably be my last week spraying the older girls in the tent. I finally got my T-5 back so I’m hoping my cloning issues will be solved. Tent is finally full!!! I guess I don’t mind that some plants are staggered since I won’t have to trim everything all at once.

Day 41 bud pics
Flowers are starting to swell up now😄. The shorter more compact space cake phenos are showing nice colors. Purple and dark green in the flowers. The taller phenos are starting to throw those orange hairs I used to always see on the gsc that came around my way. Smelling really sweet and dank on the stem rubs. All the buds on both the granola funk and the space cake are covered in trichs. I didn’t have enough room to keep all the females I grew out. I’m really hoping I chose the right ladies to keep. I killed the mom of those colorful shorter space cakes and they smell freakin amazing💔. Oh well I’m learning I guess

I like the leaves standing tall but could be a sign that they are too close to the light ( they raise there leaves to protect the lower parts ) keep your eyes open for some heat stress

I’m getting pretty close to chop day for half the tent. I’m thinking I’ll give it til day 60. I wish I had a better way of viewing my trichs. I have a loupe but my hands aren’t as steady as they once were. I can see cloudy trichs on 2 of the space cake phenos for sure. Anyone recommend one of those fancy scopes?I have 3 different space cakes and one of the granola funk phenos finishing up. Everything looks pretty good. Buds on the granola funk seem to be a lil denser and have a slightly stronger smell than the space cakes. Stronger in a fuel way. The space cakes still smell really nice tho candy sweet! I was hoping for better yields but it’s the first run with theses genetics for me. I now see that I could have vegged most of these plants at least 2 weeks longer. Allowing them to veg in their final container for a week helped big time. My goal is 4 oz per plant but it looks like I might fall short on a few of the space cakes. The granola funk leaves have faded to a deep purple. Some of the space cake leaves are pink, purple, orange, and yellow. I have a GF that’s about 2 weeks out that has turned completely purple and has nice dense buds that are stacking. She has the best smell in the tent. It will probably be the only plant I’ll keep around. I want to dial in my next round of the gsc crosses but I’m so anxious to pop new beans!!!

I was trying not to buy anymore beans but my damn social media threads filled with all the great sales got me. I got consumption F2 from AK beanbrains and Xanadu from Katsu. I was planning on running a Star Pupil cross or Purple Unicorn F5 in the near future but I think I’ll be ready for something not as sweet after all the forum cut crosses. I love haze! There’s so many flavors I want to try I’ll never get around to it. Hope everyone is staying safe out there. I know I gotta work on my camera skills

@joker just got a scope and seems pretty happy with it so far.
@Decaturdwella. I just bought a scope off of Amazon. There are a bunch between $30-40. Just make sure it will link to whatever phone you use. I cut a piece, lay it flat, and use the scope. Can’t make my hands steady enough any other way. Based on your name, think you are one state over!

Yea I grew up down south but I’m in the Hudson Valley now. It’s freakin beautiful up here. My country ass gotta get used to the cold. The temps sure were easier to keep down in my tent this summer tho. Growing in the summer down south was tough for a noob like me. I learned a lot. Tried to run strains that didn’t mind the heat. Now I can run whatever the hell I want!

So a few plants have been hanging now for 14 days in a 4x4 tent. I’ve been keeping the humidity btwn 50-60% but I don’t think they are ready because the stems aren’t snapping. I cut two small branches off and trimmed the bud to get an idea of how moist the flowers were inside. The buds felt dry but the stems were not. I let a little bit sit out for about 30 min and rolled a joint. It didn’t taste very good at all and it burned harshly. I put some of the trimmed bud in a jar with a hygrometer. I’m waiting now for the moisture in the jar to stabilize. The worst part about the sampling experience was that I pulled 4 mature seeds out of a gram! I’m so bummed. I plucked a couple nanners of this particular girl at week 6. I only saw a few so I thought I was ok. I was hoping that after slow drying in the tent the smell and taste would really come through. Seems like the smell has diminished now. The plants were healthy and smelly at the end of the cycle. Seeded bud with no smell or taste is not what I thought I’d been working towards. Seems like I may have screwed multiple things up. I’m thinking the one space cake pheno with the manly bits pollinated itself? I hope the whole run didn’t get seeded. Does anyone know why my terps disappeared? Maybe I need to make sure the plants are dried and cured properly before jumping to conclusions. I’m trying not to freak out too much. I guess all the anticipation is whats messing with my head. I only sampled a nug from one pheno. I’m gonna let the plants hang until there stems snap. I really hope I get something to be proud of on this first run.

The taste and the smell will get better once dry and cured for a few weeks
Usually a week to dry and then in the jars then open jars for 20 minutes 2 x’s a day
It improves over time mostly
