Haha! Awesome @Wakamaka4 ! Congrats. It’s been a long time coming. I lost my phone so I haven’t been on here for a lol bit. Had to do some catching up. As for the the fabric pot question I feel everyone gave you the same advice as I would give. Water from the top. Lift your pots before you water and then lift them after you water. Take a mental note of my the difference. When it gets light again water. They like it more dry then they do being soaked. Sometimes you might not have to water due to some rainy seasons. I watch the weather on the news so much more like a grown up when I grow outside.
Now as for the changing of the soils. If you feel you have a handle on the one you are using stick with it. But mind that some soils are better. They stay more stable giving you more wiggle room for error. If you add perlite you will have to water more. If you feel like you might think you might be away for a few days at a time for some point you might note want that.
Always measure your nutes. Less then the recommended dose is the cannabis way. For seeding no nutes. All soil will already have nutes in them. I don’t start adding nutes until flower time with Fox Farm. To ensure I don’t burn my seedlings I use just water. I cut my soil with with coco 2 parts coco, 1 part soil. If they are a super sensitive strain I would go all coco with just water up until the 2nd set. Then start with really light nutes and work my way up. Always start small and work your way up always. Even when it comes to the amount of plants. I think you should grow 2 plants of no more then 3 different strains. I think after that the job will get crazy. Keep in mind you might have to mix different nutes and different ph for each strain.
Congratulations again bro. I will be ready for your next grow. You can start a new thread. Your first time is done! Please post a link if you dicide to make a new thread. It’s easier for us to follow. Good job man.
First of all, I wanna thank @Shadey @GMan @Badger @LilJonB @beacher @dequilo @George @Floyd @pufferfishfiend @corey for guiding me from day 1. I would never expect you guys being so helpful, without your knowledge I would get burning plants every single time. There were so much to learn, but still got too much to learn in the future.
Out of my curiosity I wanted to check the roots of the plant, I pulled off the strain out of pot, and saw that it had giant roots, longer than the plant itself. I was surprised, I always thought that roots always affect the height of the plant. I decided to bury all fan leaves and roots under the soil, idk why I just did it.
I washed the plant with baking soda and lemon juice mixed up with water according to the instructions those I read in other thread. And I will update the total dry weight once it’s dry.
The only thing I don’t like about smoking weed - I eat a lot. I lost weight recently, about 22 pounds (with healthy diet and sport), and would hate to gain. Somehow should discipline myself after getting high lol
Cheers
Make sure you rinse it a couple of times after washing in the lemon juice and baking soda. Baking soda don’t taste good when smoked
The munchies are a killer on the waistline.
Keep some nice fruits and veggies around for the munchies.
Glad I could be here for it buddy. It cool to see you get to smoke for the first time in a long time. You deserve it after the wait.
Not a problem man . That’s the reason why we are all here. You will have you day helping out another new so & so.
Hey bud! That’s no problem. Keep the questions coming. Looking at that bud is a symbol of hard work, determination, and dedication! Great job!
@Badger good idea with the fruit
awesome job! congrats
Enjoy the fruits of your labor @Wakamaka4 . Good job !
Congrats , you will see how your next grows will increase health and yield with the acquired experience, you will find the way that is easiest for you and just apply the routine, your plants will reward you for that …
Absolutely I think when Wakamaka4 harvests his first reg. Photoperiod plant that is good genetics he’s not gonna know what to think lol. Just messing with ya @Wakamaka4
I know what you mean, I still have jars from my first grows and are just pop corn , you feel like a proud papa when you manage to slowly increase their size in the next runs, OG is the best school to learn the how-to …
This is definitely the place to learn how to grow the best
I remember when I had my first successful out door grow of some big bud. They were 7 feet tall. Never seen so much green in my life. Can’t wait to see how my autos turn out.
Considering how autos can be difficult sometimes I think a photo might be a breeze. You will have to plan that out with the season. Maybe grow something that’s if naturally from your latitude and altitude. Definitely check to see the difficulty of the strain. Some are harder then others. If I remember correctly you are pretty set on seeds huh? Looking forward to see what you do next.
Yeah man, early 2000s. I can remember my first outdoor harvest. I was in hog heaven.
Then I got arrested for half a joint and sold it all to pay bills.
The high to the low. I quit growing for a long time, but I’m definitely glad to be back.
That happened to me too I didn’t go to jail though but had one year probation with pee tests and weiner looker. Once a week at the courthouse with parking meters out front and during working hours. FTP
Conveniently kinky for the sicko watcher huh?
He used to make small talk with me when I was trying to go too how about that weather and the whole time I’m thinking did he want to be weiner looker or is he such a bad cop they made him but it was the same dude every time so you can’t use a whizinator which some people I saw get caught I assume they went to the pen. For weed. One girl was in there three years probation for perjury (not telling on her relatives). The system is not my favorite.
I am currently drying a very small amount of weed at home now, and it smells really strong. I am ok with the smell, but my wife isn’t. And it’s just a small piece of weed.
Imagine if I get a pound of harvest from my next grow, how am I gonna deal with it? I need to find a way to dry it outside somewhere.
Make sure it’s In a cool environment. That will help with the smell. Keep it in between 50 and 60 degrees f.
