My outdoor grow this year

I have 3 plants going outside that I started from seed.

  1. Shiva Skunk x Forum Cookies. Planted May 2nd in a 20-gallon fabric pot. I got these from @JohnnyPotseed. She is freaking HUGE!

  1. Crazy Roses fast version. I got these from @420noob. Planted May 2nd in a 5-gallon fabric pot. Very tall but more skinny than the others.

  1. Corey Heime. I won these from the veterans giveaway. Planted on May 29th. Very thick and starting to get tall as well.

These ladies are getting huge! Will they still stretch much during flowering? They just started showing signs of flowering this week. I’m psyched!

The shiva Skunk x Forum Cookies are a @Hashpants creation and he had a lot of good things to say about that one. Maybe he can offer some advice on that one for you.

Wow! @Hashpants Were the stalks strong enough to support the buds? After a major storm last week, the stalks were kind of “widened”…they are now a bit droopy for lack of a better word. I actually like it like that, because it opened them up like lst would, but I was concerned about when the buds start to get heavy.

I knew they do that when I’ve grown indoor when I flip to 12/12, but since these have been vegging for 9-weeks now and are this big, I was wondering if they hit close to their max size given the container size. I can’t imagine these doubling in size! That would put them at over 14 feet lol! I’m 6"1", and the tallest 2 are well over my head.

You are in containers, so they will be limited by the space the roots can take up. You have healthy plants and have been doing a very good job.

Container stability will be one of your hardest challenges. As your plant grows, winds can easily tip your containers. It might be time to prepare some form tying down your containers.

At this stage, it is good idea to begin to prepare for flowering. We take time to do any defoliation that may interfere with airflow. More frequent IPM’s. Nutrients check ( all necessary for entire run). White board tracking all 9-10 weeks.

Yes! During the bad storm last week, the Crazy Roses in the 5-gallon pot tipped over twice. The other 2 in 20-gallon pots were fine.

Thanks!

The stalks will harden up during flower and become less bendy. They will not bend as much , but still can be broken with too much weather.

Yes, it is tipping season. August is when I start putting stakes through the handles of the pots.

Exactly the reason we went over to the 5 gallon paint buckets. The weight of the soil and build of the containers made tipping happen less often.

We also figured out we use less water in containers.

Benefits of bag: if you set those bags on a viable surface that can take roots, the roots WILL grow out of the bag and into the media. It kinda makes its own “staking”:rofl::rofl:

What freaking zone is that? That has to be a clean 4-5 month veg time. Wow Bro!
